Hi! Approximately two years ago around this time after having our second child we made up our minds to try to improve our family’s daily diet by reducing intake of preservatives, additives, processed foods, refined sugar and artificial colors. Of course, more whole fruits and veggies and higher quality sources of protein made sense. But we missed one important food group: dessert. That's a food group, right? 😉
We could not find a nutritious, wholesome sweet treat. We turned to our kitchen and began to tinker with a few different recipes. We fiddled around until we had something we really enjoyed which also used top-quality, highly nutritious foods and none of the bad stuff.
We offered some of our treats to friends and soon they were hooked, too, especially since they could indulge guilt-free. Our treats became popular at a local market and before we knew it, we had launched Wholesome Nibbles to share our family's discovery with still more families.
