Just want to give a brief summary of one of my favorite lower body movements called the "good morning" exercise.
♦
This exercise got its name because it resembles bowing at the waist to say good morning, in some cultures. ♦
The Good Morning is a hip hinge exercise, meaning the entire movement comes from bending at the waist. It targets the posterior chain such as the glutes, hamstrings and lower back since they drive the movement. ♦
Here is how to perform this movement (look at the picture on the right)
1) Place the bar across your back in the high or low bar position. Grip the bar tightly and pull it into your body. Take a deep breath in and tighten your core.
2) Bend/Break at the waist to start the movement, pushing your hips as far back as you can. Notice my torso is not parallel at all, it is slightly above. My shins are vertical and my knees are slightly bent. 
3) Push your hips forward to the starting position. Breathe out at the top of the movement. ♦

💥 #knowgains 🏋️.Today's Topic. 💥KNOW -  DAILY FAT 💥Have you taken a day off from tracking? Maybe you celebrated a birthday or went out with some friends, gone to a wedding, and you went crazy for a day..You ate anything you wanted to, you drank anything you wanted to drink, you had a good time! But then the next day came around and you dreaded stepping on the scale..You finally got the courage to step on the scale only to find out your weight is up 1 lb, 2 pounds, even 5 lb for some of you. You freak out, you severely restrict calories and kill yourself on cardio the next week..Sounds at all familiar?.The truth is whatever your weight jumped up following the binge of overeating, you did not gain that much weight in fat. It is not possible to gain that much weight in fat regardless of how much you overeat..Science says that you can only gain approximately 1/5 of a pound of fat per 1000 calories of surplus. This means even going over your calories by 2 to 5000 would only net a pound or less of fat gain for that day..So if this happens don't get down on yourself. The damage you may have done is minimal and will reverse itself within a few days to a week. Just resume business as usual. You have seen her inspirational posts of her prep on social media through her pictures and videos. She has won the hearts of many. To say that she is tired, and hungry, sitting at 2 days out, is an understatement. 🚩
Michelle has started her journey in fitness almost 5 years ago. Yes, this is 5 years of work and commitment to feeling and looking her best. She lost an amazing 80lbs on her own, but gain half of it back. Some time later, she was inspired by EFT coach @diana_elitefitnessteam and her incredible transformation. Diana helped Michelle lose her weight and some. 🚩
Michelle wanted to be on the EFT wall of greatness so I took control of her diet while Diana continue training her. Teamwork 💪. It's been a long prep since November/December of 2017. She has done a photoshoot with @west_studio @prettymemakeup and crushed it with flying colors. And now we are 2 days out from her stage debut. 🚩
She will be competing in the @idfamania #transformation category this Sunday alongside  many other competitors who also have made incredible transformations. Now that the work is almost over, we are going for that number 1 spot. 🚩
One more day of being hungry and another day to eat like no one's business. 🚩

I call this the “But I Only Had a Salad!” 🥗😩 I’m often asked how it could be the case that she was eating healthy but was not losing weight. This is a VERY common misconception that so-called “health” foods are also fat loss foods. This is ONLY the case if the portions of these foods you consume keep you in a calorie deficit (consuming less energy than you expend). •Salads are oftentimes deemed as automatically fat loss-friendly, but this is not always the case. If you’re eating at a restaurant in particular, be especially mindful of all the toppings and dressing that goes into your salad. Sometimes, it will have more calories than a burger 🙈•I’m not saying not to eat your veggies - not at all! If you are aware of the calorie content and are fine with it, then enjoy the hell out of that salad. However, it’s not all sunshine & rainbows.�- -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀🍋Motivation won’t always be high, & there will be times where you simply don’t want to train. Achieving success in training, or in life requires discipline -- doing what needs to be done, even if you don’t want to do it. You understand that your work ethic & small sacrifices amount to big results.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🎡Consistency trumps short-term intensity. But to get the most out of your training, bring *both*. Just going in & going through the motions won’t get it done.
🐸Go in with a purpose. Get rid of distractions & disconnect from everything outside so you can focus, & get 💩 done.
🎯If you want to get results you have to put in work for an appreciable amount of time. It requires patience. Chances are you won’t do this if you’re not enjoying the process. Boredom kills gains faster than poor training & dieting. Find your passion & you’ll find a way to be successful.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💥WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I OVER EAT?💥
🐳Its going to happen.  Guaranteed.  You are going to have a time where you eat more than you had planned .  It may be at a special event, it may be when you are out with friends, or it may just be a regular meal at home.  Point is, it’s going to happen along your journey.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🐴Here is a scenario:  You are out with friends and go way over your calorie goals.  Waaaaay over.  The next day you feel horrible - you beat yourself up for not being strong enough to restrain from eating all of that food, and you proceed to go to the gym, spend hours on the elliptical, do a million crunches, and eat only lettuce as punishment for you indulging the day before.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🦀The biggest problem with that response is how it perpetuates an unhealthy relationship with food and sets you up for more problems down the road.⠀
🐪What should you do?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀🐿Hop right back on track.  Yep, that’s it.  No fanfare, nothing.  Just hop right back on and don’t look back.  We tend to think that the day we over ate or binged has erased all of the progress we made up to that point.  The reality is it won’t mess you up - at all.  Consistency in the big picture is what matters, not one day of overeating. 🐇So stop being so hard on yourself when you mess up.  It took me a long time to figure that out.  Just get back to your workout schedule, and your nutrition guidelines and keep going. Overall consistency will win out every single time. Stay strong & healthy team 💪⠀
