These are wild Moorish geckos, huge numbers of these can be found all over Greece just by simply peeling back a piece of bark off a olive tree . One 10 inch square of bark can uncover as many as 20 geckos all huddled up together. Fantastic little lizards
This beautiful beach might look like just a place that sun seekers come to top up there tan on, but what you might not notice is it's actually a protected area, from 7pm-7am every day it's against Greek law to be on the beach. It's zakynthos largest nesting grounds for loggerhead sea turtles.
Montpellier snake caught just on the outskirts of a over grown olive grove. It looks abit dead but it certainly wasn't, just was overly bitey. These snakes are super aggressive in the wild and easily the most common snake we came across. As you can see from the second picture they are rear fanged, yet in the U.K. they are on the DWA list which is an act that covers all front fanged venomous snakes. Took a few photos and this dude was let go back on his way to continue hunting balkins lizards #montpelliersnake
