More than impressed with the first annual Region Gourmet hosted by Crown Brewing in Crown Point, Indiana! Feautured vendors included Provecho Latin Provisions, Tavern on Main, Asparagus, Journeyman Distillery, Three Floyd’s Brewing, Burn ‘Em Brewery and more! So many great tastes, especially the ribeye empanadas from Provecho, the black cherry IPA from Three Floyd’s, the Barrel Aged Nunca Mas from Crown Brewing, and the delicious rum aged in a bourbon barrel from Journeyman. We had a great time learning about olive oil and how to taste it last night with Iron Chef America Judge Mario Rizzotti, Chef Javier Motano Lopez from Villa Magna in Madrid, and the creator of all the extra virgin olive oils of the night Ravida EVOO.  Some fun facts to remember: unless it says "product of", it wasn't really made in that country. Italy has the greatest variety of olives in the world but Spain produces the most extra virgin olive oil. Oh and I also learned that olive oil tastes delicious on almost everything

I can't explain why I ordered bourbon at a winery (besides the fact that honey and lemon pair perfectly) but if you could hear this music and feel these vibes @citywinerychi , you might understand. Vonnegut gets it.
