Head on over to @runfourvines to read about me and then enter one of the races.
You know you want to.
Thanks @runfourvines for organising this event and to @_nokkon_ and @melbourneinstarunners for help in backing it
◇ The Sunday Runs ◇
So glad I decided to join my running family for 10kms this morning and opting to take my daughter to her soccer game (the later start of my two kids games). Fast finish on the cards again with final 2kms coming in at 5:07 and 4:40 pace.
Backed up from yesterdays unforgiving run, my hammys are cranky at me, but gpt 35kms done for the week.
◇ AV XCR Round 1 (Relay) Jells Park 6km ◇
Happy with that considering I am sick and haven't run in anger for a long while.
Need to learn how to race again
Amazing how much harder the 6th km is when you are used to racing 5s.
◇ Emergency Surgery ◇
Trying to create relief for my torn blister at back of my heel.
Sponge with a hole cut out for the sore to lie untouched.
Hopefully this works and lasts the duration of the race. ◇ UPDATE ◇
It works. Did a 1km warm-up. Hurt for the first 200m then I forgot all about it.
Feels very cold out there. Already making excuses in case I have a poor showing.
Aiming to do the 6kms between 30-32mins.
◇ AV Cross Country Season ◇
Running with @boxhillathleticclub this year for the first time.
Nervous for tomorrow as my left heel is still sore from blistering on Wednesday night and I have been sick most of this week.
◇ Karkarook Parkrun ◇
Thanks to @jessd2017 for the invite, managed to dodge the large group gathering, but always great to bump into @epicmaac and @vrunsandruns.
I ran Karkarook Parkrun with Luka this morning.
I took it easy as I wanted to help Luka race the 5k without stopping.
@_lukajames_ did a great job this morning.
A great fast finish with me.
5:39 | 5:41 | 5:46 | 5:40 | 5:09
27:51 as an easy run.
◇ Day 5 of immense pain ◇
Neck, shoulders, lower back and left and right ankles, left shin.
Was hoping to take @_lukajames_ on a modified Wicked Wednesday Loop but I can't.
Trying not to run and further aggravate the injury until my crew return from the Commonwealth Games.
Last year was a year of running improvement.
So far this year has just been injury after injury.
◇ Jamieson 5k - APSOC XC ◇
Kicked off my Cross Country career today at Scotch College's Jamieson 5k event, representing Old Carey.
The run was long (5.2kms) but was very scenic and the afternoon tea afterwards was sensational.
5.2kms in 26:20 (5k in 25:25)
Happy with my times. Much improvement to come as I regain fitness.
◇ Run4Runna ◇
I haven't been feeling it lately.
All my runs have either been speed sessions, raced parkruns, long runs that push me to the edge or fatigue building pre-parkrun runs.
So many hard sessioms has taken its toll on my running and mental attitude towards running.
In short, without any fun runs ( @funrun75 hehe ) running has become shit.
So tonight I opted out of the TXR session and just ran from home instead.
Ran by feel. And that meant comfortably pushing it but not racing it.
Didn't look at my watch at all.
I needed that run. I need a few more like it before I return to the tough sessions.
Also how good is running in the dark.
