Life is more fun upside down... you get a different perspective on things!
Acro is something special to me for a couple of reasons. One interesting reason is breaking the barrier that holds us back from connecting. When you have to be physically close with someone you're not intimate with, it really connects you on a human to human and earth level.
It's tough to explain, but physical touch is healing, and to get close to a "stranger" in order to challenge one another and to have fun, breaks the barriers our minds put up when we meet others. When we make judgments and immediately keep people at arms length because we have different beliefs, opinions and life styles
It allows you to connect immediately despite differences and push our limitations aside and connect on a different level, the truest most honest level. Our most authentic state of being where we are not using our minds but we are allowing ourselves to be vulnerable and to connect deeply.
Today marks my 5 year vegan anniversary! 5 years ago today I decided I could no longer be the reason another animal suffered, and it's been the best decision I ever made for these reasons:
Choosing to not eat, wear or participate in any exploitation of animals has led me to live thoughtfully and carefully. It's made me realize that my choices affect others, and I should tread lightly.
It's encouraged me to question everything, for things may not always be what they seem or what we believe them to be.
I overcame an eating disorder by moving to a whole plant based diet, healed myself, and found self love.
It made me realize that there were more important things in life than how I looked, what people thought of me, and opened my eyes to having a bigger purpose that served others by being a voice for the animals.
I've also experienced health benefits including increase in energy, clearer skin, ideal weight, & better mental focus.
I truly hope that wherever you are on your journey you continue to open your mind and heart to learning and improving without being defensive. No one is perfect, but we can all try to be better, for our health, the animals and our planet. The animals need compassionate people to take action. When you see yourself in the eyes of the victim, you'll never be able to be the reason they suffer. ✌🏼
This little cutie pie came to say hi yesterday while we were doing Acro in the park.
I often wonder what it would be like if we approached life similarly to other animals.
What if I ran up to people sitting in a park, said "hi", rummaged through their stuff, looked through their cooler box, hinted for a back scratch, followed by wet kisses on their face and then ran off to fetch someone's frisbee just because I saw it mid air?
But more importantly, what if we truly lived in the moment, with curiosity and immense friendliness. What if we just started talking to strangers without it being weird? What if we explored and played freely instead of living our days to a schedule of things that don't actually light us up all that much? What if we hugged strangers for no good reason? ...What do you guys think?

Meeting @193countries at his talk on Side Hustle tonight in Seattle!
This guy inspired me to live life according to my own rules and through his book "The Art of Non Conformity", I gave myself permission to do what I always knew to be right - to live an authentic life true to myself.
I've been a digital nomad for the last 5 years, traveling, learning new skills, starting meaningful projects, stepping out of my comfort zone, and living quite the "unconventional" life, not to be different but to be true.
In a world where most people are living reactively and not intentionally, where people are doing things because they have to not because they want to, and a world where people can achieve anything they put their minds to but don't dare to try, I applaud you if you're taking action even if you're terrified! It's tough... but it's worth it! BE TRUE TO YOURSELF! ✊🏼
