March MATNess day 20: sidekicks featuring guest hottie Ivy! Ivy first experienced Pilates in high school as a dancer to gain abdominal strength and control. She loves that pilates is an internal approach to working out but that it is always still challenging. She has been teaching since 2015, and is now teaching at the Equinox Sports Club. Hi Ivy 🤗
Shannon is a Pilates manager, instructor, lead teacher trainer at Equinox and mom of two very active boys.
Once a dancer, she found Pilates and never looked back. She loves how strong and free her body feels from Pilates training as well as the mental challenge of the method; the discipline and concentration required. She is amazed by how much Pilates can transform one’s body. Plus, it is hella fun to do fun tricks like jackknife 😊
Saint Patrick's day in Boston has us all needing a twist of the spine to ring us out! One of our amazing trainers @gabesgains_ has recently come to Pilates and has this to say about his journey so far! "I grew up playing sports and have had my share of injuries over time. I tore my rotator cuff in high school and also have had a lot of hip and hamstring issues which led to chronic lower back pain and poor shoulder mobility. Pilates has not only helped my mobility and strengthened my core, it’s helped me be aware of my body and its movements. It’s helped my posture and correct the imbalances I have so I can be as strong and stable as I can be when I’m lifting weights. "
