Morning routines are so important. I start my mornings slowly, stretches, essential oils, nourishing breakfast with my other half, cuddles with the pups while watching the sunrise & listening to the birds sing. Meditation, yoga, journaling, reading & tea. All this is done before 8am. Set yourself a morning routine, promise you won’t regret it ☆
Lately I have really been enjoying slow mornings. Leaving the curtain opened a little so the light can naturally wake me up, leaving the window slightly opened so I can hear the sound of the birds early in the morning. Waking up at daybreak & enjoying the beautiful sunrise on these crisp autumn mornings. Diffusing essential oils while reading in bed & stretching before I get out of bed. Simply enjoying my mornings with Mark & the pups before we head off for work. A peaceful start to your morning makes all the difference ☼
A trip to my favourite place in the world is booked. My favourite place of course being the amazing @purenewzealand Mountains, lakes, road trips, snow, just simply all my favourite things in one place. I may cry from excitement when we land 😅
This year I am keeping a list of little moments that have brought me joy. And this day was one of them. Life’s simple pleasures. It may be somewhere we travelled or simply a big long hug. Enjoy those moments & write them down so you can relive that exact moment again.
It’s a new year. This year I’m going to be more present in the moment, be grateful, read more, learn more, take more photos to capture memories, go on more adventures, enjoy the little things, live more with less, journal & be healthy.
I have been on holidays & loving every minute of it. Not caring what time of the day it is or what day of the week it is, is a great feeling. I hope everyone had a Christmas filled with love, joy & special moments ✨
“Imagine if you could bottle that holiday feeling & live like that every day - a life where we put fewer expectations on ourselves, give ourselves realistic time frames to complete tasks & priories sleep, relaxation & relationships”
Looking to move house. Somewhere near a forest, right next to a lake, surrounded by mountains & possibly where it’s always cold & foggy 😂 living in the forest has always been a dream, having a view of the mountain outside my window would be a dream come true. There’s something about having a nice view outside your window which makes you jump out of bed every morning.
Sometimes life becomes too stressful & you need to take time off. Today I did just that. Took the day off work, drove out to a country town through the forests. Had a nice warm tea & a meal with the freshest local ingredients. Read a magazine, explored the stores around the country town & purchased a few goodies while chatting to the locals. Sometimes you just need to take time out & slow down.
Next time you go for a walk, enjoy the little things around you. The fresh air, the flowers, the sounds & the different scents ✨ pause for a moment & concentrate on nothing else but your surroundings. I often smell things as Mark & I are hiking & I’ll ask him whether he smelt it too, almost always the answer is no. It is because I am really taking in my surroundings while others may not be living in the moment.
Mark & I celebrated 9 wonderful years together by having an adventure packed weekend away in @tasmania. We had the most amazing time, relaxed, had great food, lots of hiking & enjoying each others company.
So I recently read a book called Hygge by @meikwiking. I hadn’t realised until now that all the little things I loved & brought me joy actually had a word associated with it & it turns out others enjoy those exact things. It’s a feeling or moment, always cosy & special. ✨
This photo definitely does not need a filter. Soaking in the beautiful colours of the sunrise, the birds singing in the background & the stillness. Love moments like these ✨this was a special morning, as we woke up to move onto our next camp site I took some time to soak in the morning feels & capture the beauty of this still & slow morning. Everyone else slept & missed out on this incredible view.
Mark & I are heading back to Tassie later this month & I cannot wait. Although it is only a short trip to celebrate 9 years together! We will try & make the most of our time there. Looking forward to hiking, lots of good food, markets, snapping some photos & relaxing. If you have any recommendations near Launceston, please do tell ✨
There are people who love summer but I’m definitely a winter person, give me all the rain everyday 🌧 it actually brings me joy. The cozy feeling, the sound, the smell of rain. Whether my day is spent hiking in the rain or simply enjoying a cup of tea & a book. Missing winter already. Cannot wait to have the fire on at home. The warmth, the crackling sound & smell is something special.
I have started keeping a list of “things I’m looking forward to”. It’s always nice to have something to look forward to & get excited about. Whether that is a holiday/weekend getaway, an anniversary, an event or even something as simple as a market that’s coming up or catching up with a friend for coffee. Christmas is definitely on that list. Christmas trees, fairly lights, holiday break, lots of food, gatherings, gifts, what’s not to love.
