We are officially halfway done the 30 DAY RUNNER'S HIGH CHALLENGE, whaaat!
It's flying by this time around, probably because of how much nicer the weather has been (thanks Mama E!).
Today we ran to @cannoncoffeeco for this week's challenge within a challenge of 'running to a local business' (the run home with a belly full of coffee might not have been ideal, but it kept things interesting 😏).
HUGE LOVE to @helena_hamont from @in_finefeather for donating a super generous gift card for this week's winner, and essentially inspiring this challenge with her love for the Hamont community.

After laying on my bed and insta-whining about not wanting to run, I sucked it up and ran because #doitforthetshirt .
AND GUESS WHAT PAST MICHELLE it ended up being so good and the light was perfect over the city and I just kept thinking about what @kyela.deweerdt said as her Runner's High motivation.
The whole run all I could think was YES. DAMN. I am so lucky to have a body that allows me to move in this way and it deserves to be moved.
I'm feeling thankful for this body, thankful for friends who reach out and motivate me, thankful to live near this trail and most of all, thankful that my dad doesn't have Instagram because he would've shut that whiny shit down real fast.

Sometimes we watch movies and I fall asleep on the couch and this guys tries to wake me up and bring me upstairs but since I'm half asleep (and hate being woken up) I swear at him and give him all the sass as he struggles to move me.
I never remember these moments but I also never wake up alone on the couch.. It's been 5 years now so I'm curious how much longer I can keep this up (forever???).

I think we all have those things on our minds that sound RIDICULOUS but that we want to achieve anyways. I feel so lucky to have been pushed by @lisabakerrr to run farther and farther (and farther) than I ever thought I could.
Having her in it with me was the only thing that kept me going (and out of bed at 7am on the weekends). And I think that's why the 30 Day Runner's High Club has become so important and transformative for me. Beyond the t-shirt it's about joining a community, supporting that community and showing up for yourself. Whether your goal is to run all 30 days, to run every other day, to hit a distance, or to just join in for the weekly challenges, there's a place for you here.

The first time I went on a diet to heal my gut, it was really restrictive and I became unhealthily obsessive about it (and I see this happening a LOT). So what excites me about this is that it's NOT a cleanse, and I'm prepared to take it as casually as I need to. For one, I'm not planning on passing up on some bday cocktails this weekend 😈 And that's okay!
I'm going to use this reset in a way that makes me feel GOOD and fits into my life.

So I wrote a blog post for @ritualisland about stress, digestion and limiting distractions while you eat...And then I started editing it while SIMULTANEOUSLY eating my lunch (and I very quickly realized how ironic that is).

Mindfulness might be a forever journey for me, but I swear I'm doing my best to call myself out on it 😉

It took me a long time to embrace it too.
But once I stopped only running to 'lose weight' or (my personal fave) 'because I probably should' I actually started to embrace it.
I ran my first 10k thanks to a small running group of friends and THAT was when I fell in love with it.
The 30 Day Runner's High Challenge is all about that - running for YOU. Running with community. Feeling supported by having a group of people cheering you on.
It's the best.
