How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
• • •
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
• • •
Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
• • •
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
• • •
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
• • •
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:16
On this day that people emphasize their love for other people, let's remember Who gave us the ability to love others. Let love be a characteristic we have, not just a feeling, and let it be shown every day of the year.
so yeah, if you want to be able to say this tomorrow...join us at 4 at the #BCM today
Make sure you dress warmly enough and wear clothes than can get wet from the ice! Also, bring some money for dinner. The BCM is covering skating and doughnuts!
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
As we start back to school tomorrow (or maybe not if they cancel lol), remember these verses. Taking your strength from God is going to make the biggest difference this semester! Our prayer for you is that you learn even more how to depend on God, and also that you encourage others through your strength. Through him, be strong, and know that we are always here to help you whenever you need it! #bestrong#ephesians#motlowcollege#BCM
Happy new year everyone! Whether this past year has been fantastic or challenging for you, our prayer is that 2018 (and the years to come!) will bring you closer to God and deeper in to His plan for you. Let the magnification of God be your goal for 2018!
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Life is hard sometimes, but we have an all-powerful God who is fighting on our side. He is always good and is always there for us - we don't have to do it alone!
I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
