When your family just gets you....🦄💕
When your family just gets you....🦄💕
“Loneliness isn’t the physical absence of other people, he said—it’s the sense that you’re not sharing anything that matters with anyone else. If you have lots of people around you—perhaps even a husband or wife, or a family, or a busy workplace—but you don’t share anything that matters with them, then you’ll still be lonely.” - Johann Hari
💕
I honestly couldn’t have planned for a better book club read than Lost Connections as I wrap up my week long #friendstrip to Denver & Boulder with two of my favorite humans @mapplebaum and @_snack_stand (with a short visit with @resparklove in the mix too). Although I’m sad the trip went by way too fast, I’m left feeling full of love and support after the many late night outings trying to pretend like I’m not about to turn 30, lol.
💕
Find your people, love them hard. We are wired for deep connection and forming deeper relationships with others might just be the thing that prevents depression, anxiety, and even premature death.... Plus, who doesn’t enjoy to act like a complete fool with your friends without judgment?! 😜

Almost 1 year ago exactly, my hubby and I (and our 2 dogs and 2 cats) moved to Buda from our safe haven in South Austin. I was ready for a change and bigger space but was also feeling internally resistant towards my new home mostly because I was afraid of what I would be leaving behind: all my favorite sacred spaces that were within minutes of my home.
❤️
Fast forward to today and I randomly decided to venture out to this beautiful park about 5 minutes from my house that I’ve never been to until today. It struck me how much I had been missing out on this and other places in my new town this whole time for fear that nothing would be as lovely as the places I left behind. I had been living a story filled with grief and loss for what I no longer had.
❤️
Which got me thinking... I’ve heard from many people to give yourself about 1 year’s worth of time after any major transition before committing to/making any new big commitments/transitions. I’m not sure what the science is here for waiting 1 year but I’m assuming it has a little something to do with being able to ground yourself and root into the new space/commitment you’re at so that you can feel safe to spread your wings to new adventures. Just like it’s important to find our breath and build an intimate relationship with our bodies in order to thrive, it’s also just as important to ground and root ourselves in our lives so that we can begin to notice the small details like the beauty of humanity and life around us.
❤️
Making a major life transition this year? Give yourself space and time to breath, ground and just be. There’s no rush to do or be anything or anywhere else. Everything you need is right here right now right in front of you. Eventually, at your own pace, you will be able to write a new story of your life that will allow you to really see the beauty around you.

Sexual empowerment is a hot topic of conversation among women these days for good reason. But while it might seem like some women are able to easily embrace the whole concept of being a totally sexually empowered feminist, the reality is that most women struggle with feeling normal in their sexuality and the road to empowerment can be long, bumpy and sometimes even lonely.
💕
@loventuretherapyatx and I are putting together a new women's sexual empowerment workshop with @vibetribeatx for women who are ready to feel more sexually empowered but needing the tools & non-judgmental space to explore these concepts.
💕
If this sounds like you and you’re tired of the constant struggle with anxiety, desire discrepancy, shutting down, confusion, low libido, shame, past infidelity or maybe even just a need a non-judgmental space to share your sexual experiences experiences with other women, I want to encourage you to consider the Sex + Empowerment workshop for your sexual and emotional health.

Sometimes you have to say f** it to unfinished projects and spend the entire weekend outdoors with friends instead. This weekend we’re celebrating Eeyore’s 55th birthday/7 years of our our favorite Austin tradition and our 1st-date-versary. Whats not to love about being outside and getting a little weird?! 🦄✌️

Sometimes it’s better to hold back the tears, anger and confusion until you’re able to vent to someone who loves you and totally gets you/won’t judge what you have to say about Becky and her long hair.
💕
Tag a BFF you like to reach out to when you need someone to help you feel sane again.

So. Much. Yes. Your children don’t need labels like sex addiction or porn addiction for being naturally curious about their sexuality- it’s YOUR responsibility as a parent to have these conversations. It breaks my heart the number of kiddos I see getting referred to therapy for porn addiction when, in most cases, the parents’ (over)reaction to the behavior is the problem.
💕
Parents, please don’t shame your child’s sexuality. Get your own therapist, ask questions and seek support from others around your emotions. It’s totally normal to be confused, hurt, angry, or whatever emotion comes up for you but shaming or punishing your child’s sexuality should never be an option (unless of course, you’re cool with paying for the years of therapy they’ll need later as an adult).

I am a book nerd y’all and love ❤️ reading books that empower women. So much so that I’ll be doing a {totally free} live quarterly women’s empowerment book club with @vibetribeatx that starts today at 2:30 pm central time.
💕
This month’s book pick will be..........
“Come As You Are” by Emily Nagoski!! Woot woot!! We picked this book because it’s hella essential for any female wanting to feel more empowered with their sexuality and will also coincide with @vibetribeatx’s next workshop on empowerment and sexuality.
💕
Interested but can’t make it? No worries! Today’s video is just the introduction to the book club but we won’t officially start diving into the book discussions until next month (link to the Facebook group and calendar in my bio).
💕
You know you wanna join... come join the book club party or check out the video after the live discussions by heading to the link in my profile. See you there!

YAS girl, YAS! 🙌 All of this! Why do women have to be the moral gate keepers who get called a hoe for wanting to pursue pleasure while men don’t have those same standards? 🧐
💕
Let me give you permission to sleep with whomever you want to as often as you want to, ladies. As long as there’s consent, there ain’t nothing wrong with enjoying sex and pleasure.

What’s missing from this art that I LOVE? “Boys will be boys”. Know why? Because “boys will be boys” is a crock of $***.
