I tried a weird thing this week.... I’ve had nagging shoulder & elbow pain that flare up every arm day & take a couple days to resolve. I’ve tried ice, anti-inflammatory supps, etc, etc..... still nagging.
So I tried out acupuncture this week. (Something I never thought I would try.) Today was my first arm day since my treatment, & it was sooooo much better! I’m a creature of habit... when I find something I love, I stick with it. Such as the case with my post workout protein. I LOVE mint chocolate 🍪 and root beer float 🍦 Phormula 1. Muscle is metabolically EXPENSIVE! Muscle burns calories, so having more muscle on your body means you’ll burn more calories even at rest. I think the stigma of girls lifting & getting “too bulky” is slowly fading.... ladies are embracing curvier, more muscular physiques. (Which I think is awesome. 💪🏻) And it has the added bonus of helping us burn more fat, yes again, even at rest! Now don’t thing you’re going to pick up a couple weights & all the sudden look like a mini-hulk.... I’ve had to lift my a** off to put on the muscle I do have (and I’m still not as muscular as I’d like to be). So get of the treadmill & spend at least half your gym time in the weight room... your body & your jeans👖 will thank you! 😘
I love this stuff! I also love sneaking little nutritious gems into my meal plan 💪🏻 Ginger has numerous medicinal properties & has been used historically for its anti-inflammatory & antioxidant power. For me personally, I try to incorporate as many anti-inflammatory foods as possible because I have autoimmune issues with my eyes (my immune system randomly decides to attack my eyes🤷🏻♀️). When my diet is consistent, & I incorporate naturally anti-inflammatory substances, my flares are few & far between (3 years now since my last one)! I also love to switch up my normal seasoning routine.... chicken breast is a staple of my diet, but let’s be honest.... it gets a little boring.
Fresh ginger root can be a pain in the butt to use (peeling, grating, etc.), but this stuff is ready to use & delicious! I use ~1-2 tsp at a time, which is only 3-7 calories & 1-2 g of carb! I found it through my Thrive Market app. I will definitely keep this on hand 🤚

I’ll be THIRTY-SEVEN in October. I quit nursing to stay home with my babies four years ago. I love the opportunity I’ve been given to stay home & serve my family. But I feel like I lost a lot of my identity. I wasn’t sure what more I could accomplish... It’s very scary to try to reach for new goals & ambitions when I feel like I’m knocking on the door of “middle aged” 😱. I feel like I should’ve figured out my purpose & be living my full potential by now.... I’m slowly changing my mindset to accept that I’m not too old, I have so much left to offer, & I have a lot of life to live! I can set new goals & achieve them. And what’s more than that, I can help other people do the same!
I’m still at home serving my family, but I’m reaching beyond the boundaries of my own household to help others & also push myself.
