Sunday CAKES before babysitting then grocery shopping! This next week is my last week of classes for the semester and also my first week of training for my new job! Haven’t said it on here yet because I wanted it to be finalized but I’m going to be working at a CCRC as a dietary technician! Aka all the old people (if u know me u know I’m in heaven) and all the therapeutic diets 🤪🤪🤪

Homemade salmon nuggets and sweet potato fries for #fryday or if you were in aus with me fish Friday!!!!!! lol jk I don’t plan meals based on the pun of the day it just happens to be Friday. Used canned salmon from Whole Foods for these nuggets and fun quote about canned salmon from my professor “if you crunch a bone just eat it! It’s like crunching a tums and you get calcium”

For the nuggets:
Combine 1 can salmon (fun fact canned salmon is mostly wild! More omega 3s! Yay!) with 1 egg white and 2 tbsp almond meal. Shape into patties and cook on a pan like pancakes.

Cut Japanese sweet potato into fry shapes and coat in olive oil (or any oil). Lay on a pan and sprinkle with salt. Cook for 20 min in the oven on 400 flipping halfway through

Nothing against regular fried rice!!! Whenever I make my own fried rice I typically use brown rice but this week I picked up this stir fry from tjs and added an egg, liquid aminos, and seaweed for an easy side!
Cauliflower has definitely been taken too far, but this was dank and such an easy way to get in so many veggggg 😛😛😛😛 - - Nothing against regular fried rice!!! We talked in one of my classes a few times about how in order to be a successful dietitian, you need to have a healthy relationship with food yourself.
Healthy relationship does not mean always eating healthy, but means you’re not in that mindset where you’re scared of food and hate it but can’t stop thinking about it. -
The same concept goes for counselors- you can’t help others if you don’t take care of yourself! And that overused quote ~love yourself first~

An argument I got back when I first stated this was that you can teach something but not practice it, but that is different with food. So much more goes into our food choices than just facts!!!! It’s culture, income, mental health, facts, emotions, attitudes, moods, sleep, and so much more. Food is something EVERYONE needs which makes EDs one of the hardest addictions to quit (you can avoid drugs altogether once you quit, but you can’t avoid food. It comes up 3+ times a day). -

Side note I have my leg tingly thing going on which is my body’s sign to me that I need more iron. I know this because of being in tune with my body/ it happens typically during my period and goes away when i eat more iron or take supplements. Not saying this is a sign of iron deficiency i honestly don’t know and everybody is different! This is just what my body does. Anyone else have something cool their body does to let them know something is off??

Then 5 min of 20 sec on, 40 sec off sprints 
Superset sumo squats/ pulse with Bulgarian split squats (3x8, 3x10 each side)
Superset RDL with narrow row (3x12 for both)
Kettlebell swings 3x16
Body weight  leg raises 30 each side
Same thing but raising knees with feet together 30 each side
COOL DOWN + stretch

Finally awake tho and clearly can’t get enough of my friend calla’s paleo English muffin (@callascleaneats ) [ homemade paleo English muffin with avocado and EBTB seasoning, + broccoli, spinach, and arugula with pink salt because they were going to go bad ]

Erik’s favorite cookies are oatmeal cookies, so I used the oatmeal cream pie recipe from @heathercupcakes book “Crazy Easy Vegan Desserts” and stuffed them with @wholesomesweet wild white strawberry frosting 😛 (Disclaimer I did use real egg instead of flax egg and real butter, so these aren’t vegan)

They’re SO GOOD and I already had one (sorry Erik) can’t wait to try out more recipes from the cookbook!
Erik’s favorite cookies are oatmeal cookies, so I used the oatmeal cream pie recipe from @heathercupcakes book “Crazy Easy Vegan Desserts” and stuffed them with @wholesomesweet wild white strawberry frosting 😛 (Disclaimer I did use real egg instead of flax egg and real butter, so these aren’t vegan) - - They’re SO GOOD and I already had one (sorry Erik) can’t wait to try out more recipes from the cookbook!
A few things to be said, none of which u probably care about but I DO:
1. Riko comin today! Yayyyy! (If you’re new here, his name is not actually riko it’s Erik but riko is the name I have somehow taken upon myself to refer to him as sometimes on here)
2. He’s coming at midnight tho. Booooo!
3. I tried to make @callascleaneats paleo English muffin and was like why is this powder and falling apart and realized I forgot the egg halfway through eating this yogurt bowl instead.
4. I burned my tongue on a piece of caramelized banana. Sad.
