We do this weird thing on laundry day where I put on an item of my kids clothes and dance. It seriously has my kids looking forward to doing laundry and I really could use the help so... Today I’m sporting my 11 year old’s black hoodie lol.
Forgot to post this! @tindratales celebrated her 40th birthday about a month ago in true Fauvist-inspired style. I had a great time and met some wonderful folks. So glad I got to know you via the WWW! ❤️
This lady has grown into a bestie over the last few years of my life. I’m so grateful that she came to stand beside me yesterday. Things have been really tough lately, but I feel so fortunate to have such great people beside me. Autistic rights are human rights and inclusion is more than a fancy word! April 2nd is World Autism Day! Thanks @wordsmith.woman Photo credit to the amazing @anthonymarkphotography
Autism 2nd is an important day for us, thanks to all who came out to Celebrate World Autism Day. ❤️❤️❤️ Photos courtesy of @anthonymarkphotography Thank you so much for these photos. In our 11 years as a family we have only had one professional family photo session and it did not end well lol. Thank you for capturing these moments with my family and friends. Let’s connect!
So today we honour our family’s journey in embracing autism and its place at our table. We are wearing red today to celebrate Autism Acceptance Day! We are all about neurodiversity in our household, but today is about Autism specifically. Autism is not a dirty word or something to carry in shame. I want a community that makes space for different ways of living life and recognizes that a disabled life is a life worth living, even if it’s not the life we had expected or dreamed of. Sometimes the most disabling part of living with a disability is societal attitudes or people’s inability to plan for person’s with disabilities to be a valuable part of community. We have had our fair share of challenges to accessing what our family needs. We welcome allies in fighting for services and supports, as well as accessible and inclusive child care, education, employment, and communities. ❤️❤️❤️
Tomorrow I am speaking at the 6th Annual World Autism Walk and Rally at the Manitoba Legislature at 6pm as organized by PACE Winnipeg. I have not been very well these days, but this is a topic near and dear to my heart for sooo many reasons and I have some great supports coming tomorrow. If you happen to be in Winnipeg, please come celebrate what neurodiversity brings to the world and walk with the many individuals and families who live on the Autism spectrum. The walk is short and sweet. Our family will be wearing red for Autism Acceptance. Hope to see you there!
This guy and I eloped in the home of @gmbchomichuk and @patronofdreams 12 years ago and we are still married! We may spend many anniversaries and birthdays apart but distance is nothing when you have love and determination. Cheers to another year @iron_buddha ❤️!
