Another look at this awesome holster from @safarilandgroup for handguns with optics. I run the level II ALS for my @sigsauerinc P320 RX 🔥🔥 #holsters #gear #duty #police #retention #edc #tactical #multicam #als #safariland
Many people don’t realize that most of your interior house structure only qualifies as concealment. This includes solid wood doors, metal skin doors, 2 x 4’s used for framing and most furniture. Things that would be considered cover (maybe) and will defeat most common calibers is, Refrigerators, safes, solid block or brick walls, cast iron bathtubs and stoves (usually). Other than that, you’re risking rounds passing right through. Keep in mind this goes both ways which means you can incapacitate a threat through these structures as well. @nikpetrakis on cam @gcodeholsters @sigsauerinc @safarilandgroup @easyshottargets @ufprogear @gargoyleseyewear #cover #selfdefense #home #security #protection #2a #concealment #fighting

Couple fails encountered working non conventional shooting platforms. This challenges the notion of reliability over efficiency and the balance between the two. I always ask myself, what is the cost of failure while fighting and how much value is there in getting it right the first time. @gcodeholsters @sigsauerinc @sigsaueroptics @radianweapons @steineropticsusa @safarilandgroup @bawidamannblades #drills #rifle #police #swat #selfdefense #fighting #performance #training #range #2a #tactics

Two videos here !! This is Amy’s last appearance. I know this type of humor isn’t for everyone but essentially, I am making fun of myself while trying to convey a message at the same time. This segment is on classroom teaching. I have been to so many classes over the years, some good and some really bad. The worst are those long winded instructors with their non structured ramblings. Sure, some personal experience to add context but hearing all their war stories and reasons why their methods work are more about their ego than adding value to the students. Can you relate? Part of good teaching principles is about keeping your students engaged and focused on the lesson plan. While some classroom time is necessary, it’s best to get them off their butts and out to the range so you break up the monotony of long lectures. Wish you all well. #training #lessons #shooting #amy #selfdefense #ccw #edc #range #2a #tactics #instructors #classroom #funny

Amy is back to learn about reloads from our certified instructor. Check out the first video of Bob the instructor. No variation to method is allowed. Only real world shit is taught here. #instruction #reload #realworld #selfdefense #edc #training #fighting #range #amycanshoot #funny #instructors
The firearms community is plagued with finite method based training. Only one right way to resolve a problem that’s often based on contingencies that don’t justify the reasoning. Let’s get something straight, credentials don’t mean shit. If you’re pushing method based training, do so to reenforce safe execution and prudent weapon handling but you’re doing your students a disservice by diminishing other methods as viable alternatives. Newer students learn by structure, more advanced students learn through exploration. Provide students with the how and why as information rather than a finite method of operation. Understand that much of what we are taught is simply passed down from person to person and goes unchallenged. The end result, it becomes doctrine. Some of it has value, some of it doesn’t. Explore what works for you. In the end, they’re not fighting your fight, you are. @gcodeholsters @safarilandgroup @sigsauerinc @bawidamannblades #method #range #training #selfdefense #tactics #credentials #instruction #2a #nra #frontsight #edc #ccw

I have to say, I do chuckle at the comments when it comes to method based teaching and whether something was correctly executed or not. I laugh because I was that guy too, indoctrinated into a culture of specific movements and “the right way” to do things. It took me a long time before I started to question what I was so certain at being “the only way” to do things. Now I have a different perspective, instead of telling you the right way (what ever that is), I am going to challenge your conventional thinking so you can evaluate your own methodologies and how those translate into good practices. Here’s a little tidbit on scan and assess. @gcodeholsters @sigsauerinc @safarilandgroup @ufprogear @altamaboots @streamlightinc #recovery #training #selfdefense #ccw #edc #police #swat #fighting #combat #range #2a

You can train someone to shoot but its very difficult to train them to think. This post will take you through my decision making process when I experienced an unforeseen FTF upon entry. Everything I did was consistent with using the decision making cycle known as the OODA Loop. Observe, Orient, Decide and Act. Next time you run a drill and things don’t go your way, don’t quit, work through the problem. This is what reveals our cognitive deficiencies. Learn, adapt, overcome. @gcodeholsters @sigsauerinc @safarilandgroup @radianweapons @bawidamannblades @islandviewenterprises #entry #cqb #tactics #FTF #swat #oodaloop #fighting #range #training #drills #2a
