In progress mini quilt for a retirement gift. "Good memories and good wishes!" Each fabric represents a memory or a wish for her future, and of course I arranged it as a trip around the world. I'm down to the wire and hope to finish tomorrow. #scrappytriparoundtheworld
One reason I haven't put many quilting progress shots up lately is that I've been working on some clothes. I finally feel like this jacket is coming together after class today! I couldn't resist adding some detail on the back seam. It relates to the lining and to the last dress I made with flying geese in the waistband. #burdastyle#srjcfashionstudiesprogram
This is number 6 of #30quiltdesignschallenge2018 with @mmmquilts . Like I said, this shape was really fun to play with. See last post for the shape. For this one I added on a little to make it square. For some reason the second graphic didn't work, but this design uses only two blocks: the spiky HST and solid squares, but the color placement and rotation makes so many fun combinations!
I'm going to try committing to #30quiltdesignschallenge2018 because I need to remember this is what I enjoy. I'm also adding the personal challenge of doing them in Illustrator. Here's number 1 @mmmquilts ! This one inspired by a #qdad seed from February 25. It's a difficult color palette for me.
I'm back from Quiltcon and here are my contributions: mini quilt for swap with @kristafleck , charity quilt for North Bay Modern Quilt Group quilted by me, charity quilt for Mostly Modern Quilters of Santa Rosa designed by me, and a picture showing the fabulous quilt @kristafleck gave me in the swap! #makeaminimakeafriend#quiltcon
Hooray for teaching! I taught beginning fee motion quilting last week to 18 fabulous students and I'm on the schedule again in April! The class covers five motifs, each with a lesson to learn. #freemotionquilting
