Dear lovelies: this post from @peculiarlypaige in honor of #mentalhealthawarenessweek is so lovely and important that I wanted to share. ✨💕 One of the things I love most about #infinitywar is the way #theavengers come together to fight a common cause. Even though they don’t always like each other or agree on how to do it! It’s one reason (besides #thor 💓) I’ve seen the movie five times. Together we can fight the stigma that surrounds mental illness, and we can remind each other that we’re not alone. You are all superheroes to me.💞 #Repost @peculiarlypaige
"And here's something else he'd never believe— I'm fighting to be here in this shitty, messed-up world. "
You come up from this book sobbing, gasping for air and feeling like you're suffocating from all the pain and heaviness in it. And closing it, you feel heartbreak, but you also feel this kind of relief that you've finished it and its over. But you realize, to some people its not. They live with this pain everyday. Feel this heaviness at each waking moment. And you want to help so much but you don't know how.
Well here's how: Be. Aware.
Be aware of how you treat people.
Be aware of how you speak to them.
Be aware of what you tell them.
And be aware of their feelings.
But also be aware of yours!!
Be aware of how you treat yourself.
Be aware of how you speak to yourself.
Be aware of what you tell yourself.
Be aware of your feelings and your needs.
Its Mental Health Awareness Week, and this is the perfect book to review cause its such an eye opener. @jenniferniven thank you and i'm waiting for that movie!!
