🇦🇺 It was a real honour to host a fantastic panel last night in Manly. Our community well and truly got behind the @invictusgames2018! A powerful panel discussion focusing on the ability of sport and activity to overcome mental challenges. Plenty for all of us to consider with #anzacday next week. Thank you to everyone who came along in particular @manlylsc for allowing us to use the space. 💙 In BIG news, Manly will be welcoming the families and friends of Invictus athletes in October! More details to come. #makeyourmarkdownunder#ig2018#invictus#anzac#lovemanly#mentalresilience#mentalhealth
👷♂️Politician in hard hat and high-vis alert 🚨 But that’s a good thing because it means work is happening! And this is a great update - 🌳🌿🌳 The new walking track at Bluefish Drive at North Head Sanctuary is ahead of schedule! 👍🏻 A partnership between Sydney Water, Lendlease and CH2M with support of NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service the track will improve access and safety for everyone who enjoys a walk (or run) through our beautiful North Head.
Did you know that the NSW Liberal government recently announced a $290 million Open Spaces and Green Sydney package to improve access and local infrastructure of all kinds. If you have a local project, please get in touch with me. #workingforyou#lovemanly
I was proud to move a Notice of Motion in @nswparliament this week supporting @soldieronaust and the important work they do particularly for our younger veterans. This Thursday night we will hear from some fantastic people about the role that sport can have in improving mental health for returned service men and women at the @invictusgames2018 community evening. Plenty of insights for everyday people too! See my Facebook page for further details.
In the lead up to ANZAC Day, as a community we raised over $150k for the @nb_veterans_centre at the annual Resilience luncheon on Friday. From the big contributions to the small, it was a resounding success. I look forward to welcoming Centre Manager Ben Webb, and Adrian Talbot from @rsllifecareathome to our @invictusgames2018 community evening this Thursday to discuss the work of the Centre and the power of sport to improve mental health. 🇦🇺 #invictus#makeyourmarkdownunder#anzacday#anzac

💡 Did you know? The most popular destination for the ‘On Demand’ bus trial so far is Manly Wharf, closely followed by the Manly Vale B-Line bus stop...
🚌 The service is showing encouraging results, with the number of passenger trips is increasing steadily since the pilot commenced in November 2017.
✅ You can get the service to pick you up from your street, the Wharf, bus stop or wherever on the map. Try it out to get home after work. The more we use it, the better chance of expanding the coverage! ✅ More info via the Ride Plus website www.ride-plus.com.au or the RidePlus app available from the App Store or Google Play! 📱$3.10 per trip. ✅ #workingforyou#publictransport
Great news for local parks and open space! 🌲🌳🌲 I welcome a commitment to increase open spaces and inclusive playgrounds in Manly, following a $120 million funding injection from the Liberal NSW Government to make communities across the state more liveable and green.
What does this mean? ✅ $100 million commitment will allow the Government to identify and purchase land for public open space. ✅ $20 million will go towards building new inclusive playgrounds in communities that currently do not have them, while also funding upgrades to playgrounds to ensure they have the most engaging and inclusive equipment. This will be done through grants to Councils. ❗It's the strong economic management by this NSW Liberal Government that means we can invest in better local communities by creating more open space. Great work @gladysb and @anthonyrobertsmp #workingforyou
Forget the 🏆 Golden Globes, the best awards are the wonderful Rotary Club of Balgowlah Community Awards. An evening to acknowledge and thank hard working and inspirational in our community (both young and young at heart!) It was my great pleasure to present some awards and congratulate the recipients.
Well done everyone! A true insight into our fantastic community.
Great to see Eira Battaglia, Barbara from Friends of the Dalwood Spilstead Service, the @bear_cottage team, students from Balgowlah Boys Campus, Manly Selective Campus, @lifelinemanly Northern Beaches and a host of other community groups and people. #workingforyou#lovemanly#rotary#balgowlah#community 💙

😱 Commuting using Opal? Get 18 hours FREE parking at Brookvale (opposite Warringah Mall). ✅ I am committed to making it easier for commuters to access public transport services across the electorate of Manly.
Some commuters need to drive part of the way during their daily commute before continuing their journey on public transport, and this trial aims to encourage people to get on public transport by offering them free commuter parking as an incentive.
In January we launched a trial of Park&Ride at the B-Line commuter car park in Dee Why. This system will now be implemented at the Brookvale commuter car park. All you have to do is complete a journey on public transport, such as the new B-Line service, by tapping on and off using an accepted Opal card, then use an Opal card when you exit the car park. Easy!
The Brookvale Commuter Car Park is located at the (new) 👍🏻Brookvale Community Health Centre site at 612-624 Pittwater Road, Brookvale, on car park levels 2 to 5. #workingforyou
