That bone marrow & shallots on the burger @ChumleysNYC is a real nice touch. 🍔👌

I want my baby back, baby back, baby back...
One of the best meals I had in Belize was at @TreysBarnAndGrill. It’s only open on the weekends unless you make a special reservation. The family that owns this open air restaurant also owns @RunningWmeats ranch, so the quality is top notch.
Seen: Baby back ribs with grilled vegetables and potatoes mixed with plantains. 👌
Unseen: Tamarind mojito. Cheesecake in a jar.

This is unBelize-able...there’s an iguana on my head. Her name is Ziggy aka Kim K because she’s curvaceous. 😂 (This is the look of fear in my eyes.)

Good thing it’s 80° & feels like summer because my favorite ice cream shop @AlphabetScoopNY reopens Saturday (tomorrow!) @ 11am with a new look and feel. The shop got a full rebranding and renovation. They still serve artisanal ice cream made on premise with a great mission of mentoring and training local youth with job and life skills. Now their space matches the beauty of their story. Ice cream for a cause...I’m definitely down for that!!! 👀 my Stories for more.
🎉 🎉 🎉
They’re also holding a photo contest to win FREE ice cream for the whole SUMMER. Peep their IG @AlphabetScoopNY for details.
Celebrating the birth of @el_o over some @widow_jane whiskey @botanica_bk in Red Hook.
Cheers Lo! 🥃🍸🍹
I learned today that @widow_jane came about when @cacao_prieto was looking to make some rum that was aged in whiskey barrels. They really got into the whiskey making part and it led them in that direction. Two things I enjoy: chocolate + whiskey. Will def be back.

Excited for @ChefPrestonM’s new resto @BellwetherNYC to open on Tuesday in LIC. We met back when he was the executive chef at Freemans & Isa. He hosted a birthday dinner of mine years ago & even made a special cake for it. (Thank you Chef!!!) Nice to follow his career & see him open his own place with @McMcCormick. Can’t wait to return and taste more of the menu.

In a land far, far away...
Does anyone know what the differences are between a minster, cathedral & abbey? Would love to know. ⛪️
Protip: If you’re visiting York Minster, make sure to do the excursion and climb to the top of the central tower, which is 275 winding steps about 230 feet above ground. You get the best 360° views of the whole city and countryside from up there, but it’s not for the faint of heart.
It’s pretty amazing to think of the people who worked on these structures hundreds of years ago. York Minster as it stands today was built from 1230 and completed in 1472, a full two decades before “Columbus sailed the ocean blue” and over 300 years before the U.S. was established.

Had an awesome trip to Malton in Yorkshire. Tasted a good bit from local purveyors such as @Roost_Coffee, @McMillansOfMalton, @Chef_Florian_Poirot, @RareBirdDistillery, @GroovyMoo_Fresh_Gelato_Co, @BrassCastleBeer and even visited a couple of sites that inspired Charles Dickens when he wrote ‘A Christmas Carol.’
A highlight was taking a private cooking class @MaltonCookerySchool1 from Chef @Marc_Hardiman of @GreatFosters on how to make a proper Yorkshire pudding. The minimal number of ingredients (eggs, milk, flour and beef fat drippings) make it look deceptively simple, but it really takes an expert’s know-how to get it just right.
After spending some time in town, it’s not difficult to see why the late Chef Antonio @CookCarluccio dubbed Malton as Yorkshire’s food capital.

Sometimes getting a little lost is a good thing. TFW you’re wandering about looking for a bite to eat @losmorosyork and you stumble upon a charming street that reminds you of Diagon Alley, later you find out that it really was the street J.K. Rowling used as inspiration for her books. ⚡️🦉🧙♀️ Great minds!
(The creators of the films were inspired by a different area in Edinburgh.)

My driver and local tour guide Alan said that the county of Yorkshire has the most @MichelinGuide restaurants in England outside of London.
I love that @BlackSwan_Oldstead looks more like a countryside pub, albeit a very lovely one, than a pretentious Michelin Star restaurant and I think that was precisely @TommyBanks intent.
Seen: Sheep’s Milk with Douglas Fir Oil dessert paired with Douglas Fir Sour (essentially a whiskey sour, but made with Douglas Fir vodka).
Unseen: Celery and walnut amuse-bouche. Langoustine with salted strawberry. Chicken dumpling. Raw Dexter beef. Sour bread and sour butter. Dry aged duck with onion and Madeira. Scallop cured in rhubarb juice. Crapaudine beetroot cooked in beef fat. Cod with cauliflower and parsley. Dry aged duck and smoked damson. Damson and kernel ice cream sandwich. Root vegetable toast, which looked very unassuming, but was actually a quite fantastic ending to the meal.
If you’re in Yorkshire, it’s definitely worth a trek out to the edge of North York Moors national park.

Any Harry Potter or Star Wars fans out there? If so, you might recognize the library of @TrinityCollegeDublin aka The Long Room because this space was the inspiration for the library at Hogwarts and also the Jedi archives in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. 📚
If you’re a fan of The @DeadRabbitNYC, then you’ll appreciate the vibe at @PerukePeriwig in Dublin. This drinking and dining establishment is spread across three floors with a more causal pub atmosphere on the ground level and a bit more formal Victorian environment on the two floors above. With clever cocktail names related to song titles or band names such as Smells Like Teen Spirits, Tequila Me Softly, Pass the Dutchie, Pretty Fly For A Mai Tai, Guac the Casbah, and Sage Against The Machine, you’ll probably want to taste a couple.
Seen: Eye of the Cider (@RoeAndCoWhiskey, @KammAndSons Ginseng, Maple Syrup, Apple, Lemon, Whiskey Barrel Bitters).
Thanks @journeys_with_japhe for the rec. 🥃
Fancy a fancy meal and private tasting @HomeOfGuinness? The Connoisseur Bar is a speakeasy inside the Storehouse that is accessed through appointment only.

Unseen: Pan fried fillet of Irish beef, cheek bonbon, sprouting broccoli, lemon & almonds. Foreign Extra Stout. @Guinness chocolate mousse.

Love a grand entrance. This beautiful bar welcomes everyone who enters @LeCoucou_NYC. While Italian is one of my mainstays, I‘m also a sucker for a good French meal. Happy to catch up with @sylvestj at Le Coucou. The @roman_and_williams_ designed interiors are a nice compliment to the f&b. 👌
Unseen: La Douleur Exquise (Scotch, vanilla, black pepper, bitters). Ris de veau a l’estragon (sweetbreads, crème de tomate, tarragon). Quenelle de brochet, sauce américaine (pike quenelle, lobster sauce). Extra bread to continue enjoying both sauces. Domaine de Terrebrune, Mourvèdre – Grenache, Bandol, Provence 2011. Filet de boeuf, jus à la moelle, queue dans la boulangère (prime filet, bone marrow jus, oxtail potatoes). Chevreuil grillé et salades amères, gratin de céleri rave (grilled venison and winter greens, celeriac with pear and foie gras). Omelette Norvégienne (pistachio ice cream, flambée à l’eau de vie). Crêpe soufflé au citron (lemon ice cream, citron confit). Chiboust aux chocolat (pruneaux, armagnac, vanilla). Green tea.
