Many thanks to the lovely @courtenay.moon for including Sourpuss in the @paddle8 contemporary ceramics auction LIVE now through Feb 14th 💛. Link in bio.
Delighted to be in such great company.
Shannon Goff’s ‘Sourpuss’ (2015) is what she refers to as a “drawing in space”. Drawing out loud in clay allows her to test the conceptual and structural limitations of the material. The entangled line work of her sculpted drawings often begins innocently, like a doodle, but personalities emerge through process and form, humor and wordplay. “Sourpuss” champions irony, juxtaposing vibrant lemony color with a habitually gloomy force.
