#FlashBackFriday The Norfolk Harbor Half Marathon and 5K, Get Natui Challenge is my annual event. It was my toughest race to date this past year considering the unpredictable weather we have here in #hrVa in November. I owe this race a bit of revenge becuse I wasn't entirely satisfied with my result. I also have a new challenge/goal I'd like to accomplish this year and this race makes it hard to move on with that. Skip my goal and seek revenge or continue pressing foward with this bitter taste in my mouth. I would like to hear your opinion on this. What would you do? #runnerproblems#bibchat#runchat#brooks#JandAracing#Norfolk
Sometimes you go out the door looking specifically for one thing. It's always a pleasant surprise when something unintended presents itself. I intended to chase a sunset. The road to the sunset was the reward tonight. #loveNN#hrVa
The #toastthecoastVA beer trail took me to #BillsburgBrewery Just of the Colonial Parkway and Historic Jamestown Settlement. The Virginia Capital Trail is just near this location as well. Packed with history and water views this brewery had a certain unspoken comfort level. With a run group meeting for the days action this brewery can be easily revisited. Just three more breweries and I will have completed the Toast of The Coast Beer trail. #craftbeer#vacraftbeer#hrVa#jamestownsettlement
It's always a gift to be able to get off in time to enjoy a great sunset. I didn't have enough time for a long run but maybe this weekend if the so called snow and rain can stay away. I'm overdue for a tough and long trail run. #thinkingoutloud#sunset#hikehrVa#meditationStation
I had a very good time at the ballpark with family and friends this afternoon. It was a beautiful day but man, was it COLD! Windy! Things heated up a bit when we watched players like Adam Jones, Chris Davis and Manny Machado in the batters box. Buck Showalter and home grown Wayne Kirby were definitely entertaining. It will be great to return when the temperatures heat up. #SeatheGreen
I have passed an area that looks like it has an amazing water view for years. Hard to get to. On the way home, my son and I decided to stop. The trail is just off the road in a very historic area. The elevation was steep. That would be a nice fall to the bottom in certain areas. Slippery but gorgeous looking moss was underfoot just about every step. We both had close calls. It was fun to pullover and explore and find a gem.
My son Xavier is 17 today. Oldest of two. I feel very blessed and thankful to be his father. How proud can you be of a first child, turning the page and moving towards adulthood. Because of him I know what love is.
My run took me to Windsor Castle Park. Right next to Smithfield Station. This location is very special to me and I thoroughly enjoyed my return visit to this park. I even found a few surprises on the trail. I hid it for the next visitor. I then hopped across the street to Smithfield Station to soak up the incredible feel of this wonderful little town. I was sad to see that Ringo's Donuts is no longer in operation. They had the best Caramel and Applewood smoked bacon donuts ever. #easteregg#Smithfield#runva#hrVA
