Here's some stuff from the last week. There's been a ton of cool fungi, a lot of rain, and a few good views. I'm both sad and a little relieved to be heading home soon. This is definitely a trip I will carry with me.
Too windy to do tongariro crossing today so I went and saw some lakes. It was still very windy.
Thoughts: not much feels better than sore feet and tired muscles, alpine and subalpine plants are the cutest little badasses, I'm not your damn pace setter
3/11 Thoughts on today: biokarsts are cool, you can get useless hints in real life too, black sand is the best sand, i wanna try the glider thing, dogs don't understand what too big means
Also not pictured, a 7'9" plastic board is very different than a 9' foam board and on day 2 my best showing was a maybe 3 second ride #sirfailsalot
I was lucky enough to watch this amazing sunrise today.
Two of the thoughts I had: (while walking up to the lookout) you screwed up and slept to late and now it's not as good; you should have started a time lapse earlier, way to suck.
These are very typical thoughts for me and happen 50 to 100 times a day. Intellectually I know that this sunrise and this photo are amazing but my brain says it's all shit. I don't know where I learned to do this but I know I learned it well and I know that many others have learned it too.
