Enchiladas de Mole de Pollo #takeout because I’m home this week and I love their food. Nicely spiced, but I’m a sucker for mole (and probably will never live long enough to try all the varieties of this richly flavored sauce) and #creamy#avocado . Note: I had to wrap up some work so this was after an hour sitting in a warm oven—still looked amazing
Really need to do justice to these #Chocolate#Coconut Macaroons I #baked last night. They are crispy on the outside, fudgy on the inside (180F so they were fully cooked—this is gooey chocolate and condensed milk). They are outrageous if I do say so myself.
The Brown #Ale is done and here it is! As some of you may remember, this was my first all-grain #homebrew (check out the video on my feed from a few weeks ago of my boiling/mashing the #grain ). So many things seemed to go wrong (like a stuck #fermentation that @love2brew helped me fix), but it still ended up wonderful. Stay tuned for the next two beers which were made from kits, but I will not be afraid of doing an all grain beer next time.
Tonight’s dinner will feature the last bottle of 1998 Chateau de la Gardine I had in my #cellar . I suppose 20 years is enough time to wait, but its 11 other brothers and sisters gave me a lot if enjoyment over the years. #Wine doesn’t last forever, and there is a bit of tragedy in something that must be destroyed to be appreciated, but this is a worthy death!
The Dancing Eel, part of my #sushi#dinner from the unexpectedly #excellent Ninja Sushi in North Brunswick. I had heard rumors of deliciousness, but it was nice to prove the rumors true. The Dancing Eel consisted of #spicy crunch #tuna , avocado, BBQ eel, red tobiko, sesame seeds, eel sauce & hot sauce. Really good. I would show you the volcano roll—also phenomenal—but I didn’t like how the photos came out! #buzzfeast
Traditional #wings with a sweet #Thai#Chili sauce. These were “Arooga Style” so they were laid in a bed of #frenchfries with extra sauce. #Tasty but we were here because @hannahmorgs_ was in town and had never been here.
A raspberry #mead I made in 2006 and bottled in 2008. Mead for those who don’t know is a kind of #wine made with #honey . It’s a really old kind of #drink dating back centuries. This one needs more time to age but I can finally smell the raspberries. Reminds me of #champagne or #sparklingwine . Starting to dry out more with age, but still a touch sweet...and probably will be from the 12 pounds of honey I used to #brew five gallons of this 12 years ago. Estimated 12% #alcohol according to my notes (I’m a bit more diligent on measuring now). I still have more than a case left and it will probably be good for another decade or more.
