Meet Zeke! Isn’t he so beautiful?!
I’m prepping and packing to fly to California tomorrow, so get ready for all the ☀️🌊🌴photos. So many of you have taken advantage of my birthday ecourse sale—thank you! (More info on the previous photo.) PS: if you purchase an ecourse kit now through April 30, it will ship May 2nd or 3rd.👌🏼 #paintingwithwool#artistsoninstagram#petportrait
My birthday is this week, so I’m offering my ecourses for half off through the end of April! Use code ‘birthday’ when you enroll through my website. Try out my Painting With Wool techniques in #FeltWithMe or build your own woolly cactus garden in the #DIYCactusCourse . My ecourses are project-based with videos that guide you through every step, all at your own pace. Hop in the class now and join hundreds of other students that are learning to create beautiful fiber art! 💃🏻
I’m heading to San Diego later this week to teach two Painting With Wool workshops in collaboration with @elisejoy. (The workshops are sold out, but message me if you’d like to be on the waiting list.) I’ll also be celebrating my birthday on Friday (🎉) which means I’ll have something special for you later today! 😱 Stay tuned!
PS: Your recommendations of favorite food/restaurants/craft beer and special outdoor spots (trails, ocean views, etc) or other off-the-beaten-path-things-to-do in SD or nearby are very welcome! 👇🏼😘
Hey friends! It’s Monday and here is Week 16 of #GoodNaturedSketchbook . I had to opt for mostly half pages this week because I was feeling very thinly stretched among the different things I needed to accomplish. In fact I almost skipped doing this week entirely. But even putting wet blobs of paint down on paper feels like a win some days. I still have to make a decision on medium, on color, and it uses at least a tiny bit of creativity to do those small tasks. It feels good to have pushed through and fill these pages, but I’ve also mentally given myself permission to skip days (or a week) if I have to. No big deal.
Mediums and subjects:
🔸Husband’s eye-Le Pen
Hey Arkansas friends: by popular demand we’ve added a second workshop on June 2nd at @southmaincreative in Little Rock. The first one sold so quickly, and a few spots have already been snagged in the new evening class. Come join us! (Link to workshop schedule in my profile.) #goodnaturedworkshop#paintingwithwool#needlefelting
Today is our tenth wedding anniversary! I couldn’t imagine my life without this man. He keeps me sane when I’m stressed, celebrates all the wins with me, and is constantly making me laugh. He’s up for any adventure, cooks us amazing food every day, has an impressive green thumb, and puts up with my requests to constantly refill the bird feeders that I can’t reach (all of them😬). He’s the syrup to my pancake. I couldn’t ask for a better husband and best friend. I like you and I love you. So much. 😍😍
I went to bed last night with a decent level of determination and sureness about the things I need to accomplish in the next seven days or so before getting on a plane to California. Then today I was sent a reminder about a project due date and then another email with a new (but exciting) task that threw all of that assurance out the window. 😬 So what do I do? Go to the woods. My husband came home from work, packed me and the dogs into the car, and we headed for the trails. It was a short hike, but I caught the last of the dogwood blooms and saw all the new growth sprouting through the forest floor. Some fresh air and steep hills were a wonderful mental break. I came back, sat at my desk and got. some. shit. done. I think I’ll just rinse and repeat for the rest of the week. 😉👊🏼💆🏻♀️
Hey hey! This is Week 15 of #GoodNaturedSketchbook 2018. It seems as though I’m trying to force Spring along with my sketches this week. Give me all the flowers and green leaves and spring growth, please.
My subjects and mediums: 🌱Maple seeds-watercolor
🌱Daffodil-watercolor & Micron Pen
🌱OKC neighbor’s window-watercolor & Micron Pen
🌱Fern leaves (these pages stuck together hence the messy smudges)-watercolor
🌱Sketchbook-Moleskine art Plus
These are giggles courtesy of @brandon__ives before teaching workshops this weekend. Some days I can’t believe that this is my job. Making art, traveling, and meeting new friends who I can teach and guide into the world of fiber arts is SO gratifying. Five years ago I never would have dreamed up this life and business I’ve built. Makes me so excited for the next five years!
I have a few seats left in upcoming workshops in....
San Diego on 4/28-2 seats in the 10:00-1:00 class
Austin on May 17-1 seat left!
Victoria BC Canada-June 25-29
Prato, Italy on July 28 & 29 😉
