A truly memorable time spent at the Green School. Each building is made entirely out of bamboo. From the floors, walls, roofs, tables, chairs ... they have a no waste policy. Everything is based on sustainability and permaculture. They have an aquaponic setup, solar panels, and an educational system that encompasses the best philosophies of different systems. We were blown away by this place. .

Here are some freshly harvested cacao pods. There are 2 varieties here in varying stages of ripeness. Harvesting is just the first stage, then there is fermenting, drying, roasting and peeling in order to get the cacao that we know. Wishing everyone a great weekend ahead. .

We have landed in the lap of luxury, surrounded by rainforest and rice paddies. Such different energy from @back2earthaus. However green and blues in nature still set my soul on fire.
Our first day in Bali was nothing short of extraordinary... waterfalls, swims, luscious greenery, walks, rice paddies, giant swings, volcano sightings and a coffee plantation where we spotted this little guy. This is a Civet cat which is an imprecise term that is used for a variety of cat-like creatures. These civets eat and digested coffee beans, and then they are harvested from its fecal matter. The civets digest the flesh of the coffee cherries but pass the pits (beans) inside, where stomach enzymes affect the beans. This is turned into a prized coffee called Kopi luwak which is a very expensive coffee. There are many animal cruelty concerns surrounding the coffee and the way these civets have been farmed.
