I wake up this morning and what do I see? The green woods of Georgia peeking at me!
πŸƒπŸŒΏπŸƒ
This is the view from my hotel room. A joy to greet each morning (if it’s light enough outside) and evening after a hard day’s work.

Sweet balm for weary body, brain and soul...

McLeod Ganj, India. Home of the Dalai Lama and Tibetan government in exile along with many Tibetan refugees. Up the mountain from Dharamsala, it’s also a great place to shop and eat, offering many options to bargain (some prefer the word haggle... too unsophisticated for my sensibilities).
πŸ™πŸΌ
Returning to one spot after stopping there a previous day for a Tibetan singing bowl, I was treated to freshly brewed hot ginger tea by the manager, named Lovely. While we visited, I purchased a total of ten scarves and shawls to be shipped to the USA. I would keep four for myself (using and treasuring each of them regularly), giving the rest away as gifts. Lovely invited me back for tea and a visit any time, whether or not I was buying. She made me feel so at home, living up to her name both inside and out.
πŸ™πŸΌ
Down the mountainside, closer to the temple, I experienced a most delightful encounter with the gentleman owner of another shop. You can read about it in my blog story β€œDoing Business in McLeod Ganj” at https://www.abundanceart.com/memoir/2015/2/25/doing-business-in-mccleod-ganj-mandalas?rq=Mcleo.

May you open your heart and spirit to encounter Maitri (Sanskrit for unconditional loving kindness) wherever you go. Life is so much better that way!

I am blessed daily with this Taj Mahal reminder in my very own home.
πŸ’«πŸ’™πŸ’«
Made from the same Rajasthani marble as one of the seven wonders of the world and inlaid with semi precious stones by a master craftsman in Agra, India.
πŸ’«πŸ’™πŸ’«
As practical as it is beautiful, this exquisite cutting board comes out every time I cut oranges and/or grapefruits for fresh squeezed juice.
πŸ’«πŸ’™πŸ’«
I am indeed blessed!

With Sunday being a day of rest, I choose to go slow. Ahhhhh... nice. The beauty of going slowly is that we notice. Nature, nuances, newness.
πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™‹πŸ»πŸ’•
We can be curious instead of judgmental. Most importantly, big healing shifts can happen.

Those who know me know my wild love of mandalas (Sanskrit for circle) - wherever and however they show up... in nature, architecture, designs, etc.
πŸ’«πŸŒ€πŸ’«
Speaking of up, this view of a stunning chandelier makes the most exquisite lighted mandala.
πŸ’«πŸŒ€πŸ’«
Encountered by me at the Fortress of Saints Peter and Paul, that beauty - my all time favorite - sparked a love affair with chandeliers that has continued to burn brightly in my heart.
πŸ’«πŸŒ€πŸ’«
Two and a half years and six collections (Russia, Europe, Chicago, Castle, Kansas City, New York) later, my passion remains undimmed.
πŸ’«πŸŒ€πŸ’«
You can learn more about how it all started at https://www.abundanceart.com/new-blog/2016/12/12/my-love-affair-with-russian-chandeliers?rq=Affair.
πŸ’«πŸŒ€πŸ’«
Three of the collections (available at https://annette-hadley.pixels.com/index.html?tab=galleries) include a delightful assortment of print and merchandise options.
πŸ’«πŸŒ€πŸ’«
Lastly, and by no means leastly (πŸ˜‰), you can enjoy a selection of chandeliers in my book From Fear to Love: Reflections and Stories for the Sensitive Soul, available at http://a.co/1qWXu3g.
πŸ’«πŸŒ€πŸ’«
May you be blessed with an eye for the mandala beauty that surrounds you every day. The more you see them, the more you’ll find.

A quiet, meditative moment turned playful during a visit to a Hindu temple’s river front five years ago in rural northeast India.

Imagine my surprise when, seemingly out of nowhere, these three impeccably dressed schoolgirls appeared on my morning path.
πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ
Greeting them with Namaste, I delighted in their β€œhello!” responses. We chatted in English for a bit and I watched as they went on their way.
πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ
This is my greatest joy: serendipitous connection with God’s children all across his beautiful world.
πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ
May you be blessed in all your encounters today. Choose life. Choose love. I do, every day, and am ever better for it.

Five years ago I moved on to my second three week volunteer assignment in Dharamsala, in the northern India Himalayan hill mountains.
πŸ™πŸΌ
The view from my bedroom provided a glimpse of the real deal in the background. Stunning!

The Taj Mahal... one of the seven wonders of the world. An other-worldly experience I will always treasure.
✨
This "Crown of the Palace", commissioned in 1632 by the Shah Jahan, housed the tomb of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
✨
My friend and I were blessed with an amazing guide who drove us from Delhi to Agra for the weekend. He knew how to make the best of our time.
✨
We arrived before sunset on Friday, just in time to view the stunning back of this wonder from across the river.
✨
The next morning we arrived at opening time, just at sunrise, which is when these photos were taken.
✨
We returned mid day to experience its ever changing beauty, and it did not disappoint. Blessings abounded!
