Granny, I hope you’re resting so peacefully. I got to see you for the first time today since you passed and you looked flawless, like a sleeping beauty, a Queen. I love you so much, and we all miss you. You’re everything to me ❤️❤️❤️ my sweet angel, rest well.
This Mother’s Day feels just a little different. To my mom and my amazing grandmother...happy Mother’s Day, and I am so grateful to be here with both of you today. Thank you for all you do and continue to do or all of us, I can’t say thank you enough.
I am the newest Senior Network Automation Engineer at Target Headquarters (HUGE!). My first week is finally complete and I’m so full of happiness and gratitude for this this new and brave career transition.
When the opportunity at Target was presented to me I wasn’t even looking for a job, nor were they hiring for this specific space. The VP CREATED a position just for me, I met him personally back at the end of December at a Diversity and Inclusion event which led to him inviting me to a tour of the Target Facility and who knew I would soon work for him later. I never had any intentions on leaving 3M (anybody who knows me knows I loved it) and when he asked me what it would take I handed him 4 asks and he met ALL OF THEM. When you work HARD and protect your reputation the doors are revolving, they open themselves for you. A lot of people would contribute my success to “being a black woman that knows how to code” but NO. I’m simply GOOD at what I do, and I’m not afraid to take risks. As @badazzboz would say “being black is just THE SAUCE” 😉🤑💅🏽
Today I’ll be at @minnewebcon teaching on artificial intelligence and the way it is affecting/ shaping our experiences with social media. I’ll touch on computer intelligence, speech recognition, and translation between computer languages. It will be live streamed on the minnewebcon YouTube page! You don’t wanna miss it. 💕✨ #womenintech
Ky. I don’t think people know the amount of influence you’ve had on me + how lucky I am to have you. I remember always bugging you to read my blogs (when I had just started) help me create graphics for my speeches (I didn’t know how) + proofreading and editing my writing without ONE complaint. You never complained and always did so with love. I love you so much and everything you are becoming + have became. I don’t know if you’re ready for this 25th year because i know it’ll grant you every single desire of your heart....it may even bring some surprises and heart attack’s. You’re so fearless in your pursuit to take NY by storm and it’s fun as your friend + sister to watch you. Happy Birthday my love ❤️ here’s to 25 🥂as I always say....until we die ❤️👭
Some of the most beautiful things that have happened to me, happened because I never stopped believing that it could. I’ve failed 100 times but I’ve seen double that number when it comes to winning and that’s what makes it all worth it.
Bri Limitless 2018 💕
I am strong, beautiful, resilient, and incredibly FEARLESS. My womanhood has become 100% more unapologetic this year and it’s only getting better.
I remember when I first started my journey breaking into technology, I was warned of it being a male dominated space and I knew the risks that came with that but I went into it not to prove that I could do it, but to create opportunity for everyone else coming behind me. As women and people of color we don’t have enough people telling us we can do hard things. My journey is not about ME, it’s about the little girls who are watching me and can’t wait to take this walk in my shoes. It’s for the people who get excited to see me show up + can’t wait to cheer me on. I’m making room so that the 3% of women of color in technology will DOUBLE by the time I make an exit.
2018 is going to be a BIG year. Stay tuned 😊💕 I’m launching my personal website within the next month, date TBA.

I’m late because we were too busy having a blast and sleeping 😭 Happy Birthday to my best friend, sister, and confidant❤️ I am so so proud of the woman you are, and I wouldn’t be half of who I am if I didn’t have women like you walking alongside me. You’re strong, brave, and never afraid to stand up for what you believe in even if that means you’re standing alone. I admire + love you. Happy 25th babygirl! Cheers to a year of more life, more peace, more money and all the desires of your heart because that’s what you deserve 🥂💃🏽😊
I wrote an article for @blavity about my experiences with the Google Dev Fest and how it really made me feel to be the only woman of color presenting. As many of you know, I am currently on an initiative to change that for next year. I am 100% dedicated to this with so many other women standing beside me. We will NOT lose. Link in my bio!
Yesterday, I presented at my 2nd Google Dev Fest on Diversity and Leadership in Technology. As the only woman of color presenting I used my platform to speak on what matters most to me and did a damn good job. Next year I will be taking on a bigger role in sitting on the board of the Google Dev Fest in efforts to continue to increase diversity at next years event. This a big step of many and I can’t wait to see what this year will bring ❤️
