Congrats to the ambassadors they raised R1 000 towards their October 2017 trip to Cape Town! They met with potential sponsors to solicit donations, and even asked their neighbors for donations. They are also planning a car wash, a talent show, and a concert to raise funds. The R1 000 is seed money and will be used to purchase supplies for the carwash. #youthempowement#youthentrepreneurs#fundraising#capetown#southafrica
This year’s theme is “Navigating Through Currents, Aiming for Success.” I encourage policy makers, organizations, schools, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and the people of our islands to observe the month by promoting positive youth development, active participation, and increasing awareness of the importance of supporting and encouraging our youth in the Commonwealth. By helping them navigate through the often difficult currents of life, we empower our youth for their success and the success of our Commonwealth. -Acting Governor Victor B. Hocog

We are halfway through our second summer trip, and love seeing all of the pictures of our kids having fun! Our volunteers are serving in Senya, Ghana and getting to create bonds with these wonderful children. If you would like to donate to our cause, visit https://www.youcaring.com/sethasiedufounderofbeckyschildrenshomeandschool-685319
How important is it that your child tap into his/her knowledge of self-love, self-worth, self-confidence, and sense of self?
Knowing who they are and what drives their personal desires allow our youth to operate in love, purpose and fearlessness!

It's FREE YOURSELF FRIDAY!!!! See this picture? My daughter took it a few weeks ago... I didn't like it.. why??? Because all I saw was the weight I wanted to lose!
Then I got to thinking... I am in my 40's, I have given birth, naturally and via c-section, I have endured molestation, assault, rejection, failures and successes... what the crack am I unhappy with?
I am STILL HERE, alive, wuth a SOUND MIND and ALL of my faculties!
I work full time, am launching my business and working on other ventures to leave a legacy for my children. I have a strong relationship with the Lord and my children, friends and family. Life is good!
I may not be the size I desire, but I love every inch of my curvy, wonderful body! And while I continue this journey of fitness and healthy living I will love myself every darn step of the way!
Thank you Lord for the ability to override a lie with the TRUTH!

There were days when I sought for the attention and affections of men that would not give me the time of day! I was too light, too "thick", had kids, was too saved... and the list goes on.
When a man would show attention, I would "become" the type of woman he vocalized wanting to ensure that he would not leave.
Eventually I would end up hating myself because I wasn't being me and ultimately resenting him for not liking me! Not realizing that I never really gave him an opportunity to know me based on my fear of rejection and abandonment.
Then Jesus found me... And I began the journey back to me... and realized that I am great! And if my Father loves me, I trust that He will send someone to love me also. Just.as.i.am.... So to all the brothas that never looked past my exterior to see the brilliant, gorgeous, loving, compasdionate, funny, Holy Ghost filled, wise, humble, woman inside.. thank you! Every bit of rejection has strengthened me and shown me who I am and ultimately what I need.
To all the single ladies... NEVER compromise who you are, NEVER downplay... don't lose weight to catch a man, lose weight because you want to better yourself! Learn who you are and walk confidently in that! Trust God to provide the right one for you at the right time! Celebrate your uniqueness! Love you all!
National Youth service Corp is a compulsory youth service scheme, which was established by the former head of state, of Nigeria Yakubu Gowon in the aftermath of the civil war in a bid to foster unity and patriotism. Since 1973, graduates have been required to take part in the National Youth Service Corps program for one year. It is now 43yr old.
In recent times, there is a hot debate on whether the NYSC scheme should be scraped out due to the problems that the scheme in current years faces such as lack of funds, poor facilities and amenities, poor health care for Corper's, low pay, insecurity, corruption etc. Most parents are scared to allow their ward go to camp.
However let us not quickly forget the values that the founding fathers had when this scheme was created. They saw a need to arrest the most vital pillar of the society survival, which is the Youths, by compelling them to a compulsory one year service to their nation after 3 weeks of camping and intense military training. This scheme has been very helpful to Nigerian youths by keeping them busy after graduation. It also allows them to get employment by retainment from the company where they served. Corper's are Respected and appreciated for their service to their nation and to themselves.
At EAYF, however we believe that this scheme is still a very useful method of youth empowerment, because it creates in Nigerian youths the spirit of patriotism and service to their Nation and themselves. Therefore we stand strongly against the abolishment of this scheme no matter what. Instead we advocate that our government should invest more time, money and effort into it, and make Nigerians see the importance of the scheme once again. #africa#africanyouths#Nysc#Nigeria#Nigerianyouths#service#youthservice#youths#youthempowement .@lindaikeji
