“Your not mean you were just born to be seen” 👑💐 Sometimes when I get artblock or frustrated with an artwork I paint on myself. I find in liberating to push the boundaries of what is considered beautiful 🥀
When I was in my final year at the VCA, our class motto was ‘SHOW UP’ 🌟
So what does it mean to ‘show up’? Showing up is bringing all of your energy and authenticity to the present moment, to live and breathe for the present moment and to absorb everything that moment has to offer you.
Most of us turn up to class and let our presence wander. We get distracted, we worry about possible risks or failures, we mentally try to predict outcomes. When we do that we focus our energy inwards and we lose the opportunities that the present moment is bringing us.
Instead, SHOW UP to class with no expectations and ready to embrace any outcome. Allow yourself to be surprised by wonderful successes, but also allow yourself to fail gloriously - after all, it is only when we let ourselves fail that we learn the most.
And don’t just show up to class. SHOW UP to your home practice. Rather than just singing through all of your songs back to back, commit to 20 minutes (or even 10!) of singing and give 100 percent of your energy and focus to those 20 minutes to see what new discoveries you find. Some of the best vocal breakthroughs happen when we are truly in the moment because only then will our body (and thus breathing mechanisms) fully let go 💫
One last post to showcase the group of artists from the Collective Print exhibition. The art has been installed and it is brilliant, colourful, interesting! Trust me I wouldn't fib!

I'm looking forward to this event. The Gallery has a great vibe; it is a cosy, eclectic and welcoming venue. Our host and Gallery owner, Jenni Nichols will provide us with a table of delicious nibblies and drinks which include Hunter Valley Boutique wine from Ballimore Estate .
I'm looking forward to seeing those who can make it tomorrow and for those who can't, it has been wonderful sharing this journey with you xx
