This pose represents that for me. Have always had this fear..."what if I fall on my face?" I then changed it to "I can balance on my hands just like I balance so well on my feet....and if I faulted I have the strength to try again"
Which I did (and STILL do). Have loads to work on still but now my mind focusses on SEEING myself achieve the pose before I actually do it. 💦Slowly I gain courage to keep doing it and keep trying and in the process succeeding!!! 💦This can be applied to ALL areas of life! Whether you're just getting into yoga or you're a longtime practitioner, here are some tips and tricks to help you stick with a yoga routine.
Keeping up with your yoga routine can get tricky when life throws a hectic schedule your way.
1️⃣Keep yourself on track by wearing clothes that let you go easily from regular life to the mat. Sleep in a tank top and leggings or yoga shorts to roll straight out of bed and into your sun salutations. Ever thought of this? 😉
2️⃣Yoga accessories like blocks and straps help maintain proper alignment in a variety of positions. If you’re practicing at home or don’t want to pack your blocks on a work trip or vacation, there’s always something lying around that you can use during a session. you can replace a block with a stack of books (secured with a scarf or similar), folded blankets or a suitcase. Easy, right? 🙂
3️⃣there’s always room for yoga. Because with no expectations (see number one!) we know that ten minutes on the mat is oh-so worth it! I mean, would you rather:
🔸Watch TV, or play with yoga?
🔸Cruise Facebook, or connect with yoga?

Some of you may have noticed that I changed a few things on here (!!!). My photo, my bio, and even my username. You can now tag me at @alexisavillegas. It's true, I'm slowly leaving behind a brand that I built and loved and am moving in a new direction...
Leaving behind something that you worked *so* hard to build is difficult, but what you (and I) have to remember is that life is constantly in motion. In order to begin new things, sometimes we have to leave others behind. Sometimes, we have to breakdown to break through.
In my own deeply personal journey, I have come to the realization that travel blogging just isn't my passion. Travel is a huge part of my life and my identity, but it is no longer the story I wish to tell. The message I want to share now is different and I feel like I am finally reaching a more holistic understanding of my own Earthly purpose.
Helping others is something that I have always loved and providing guidance + assistance to others is how I spread positivity in this world. It is my highest calling and holding space for others to heal and improve their lives is what I truly live for. 💖
Part of my new goal is to create a new business, one that is focused around women and cultivating a community for them to feel empowered by. I plan to lead retreats and help women build their confidence in a whole new (and very exciting) way. 👭💪
A lot of work lies ahead and to be totally transparent I feel completely overwhelmed, but I know that with the right help anything is possible. When I look at this photo, I see a woman that loves herself unconditionally and understands herself more than ever before. As I start something new, I hope you'll join me in the process. To me, there are many forms of bliss. One of them is saught in silence, through meditation, turning off our monkey minds to connect with the infinite.
I also find bliss in many moments beyond sitting still. These moments are not linked to any one place or person necessarily, but in moments when I am flowing on or off my mat, by or in the ocean, or with amazing people in mundane places. These are moments where I am completely wrapped up in the moment, no thoughts of past or future, just here now.
I find bliss in moments like this with my Lani Luna. Wrapped up in her infinite joy and blissful innocence, completely in each and every moment.
These forms of bliss are similar in that
once you feel it, you are lost from it, but you just know you were there. ✳️🌿

My circadian rhythm seems to be all out of whack.

Behind me is a Hubble image, which show a duo of interacting galaxies. The duo are collectively called Arp 142.
The contain a star forming spiral galexy NGC 2936 and its elliptical partner NGC 2937.
Gas and dust from the heat of NGC 2936 becomes compressed during the encounter, which in turn triggers star formatiom. ✨
The elliptical NGC 2937 is a ball of stars with little gass present. The stars contained within tge galaxy are mostly old, shown by their reddish colour. There are no blue stars which are evidence of new star formation. 🎆
I really felt I lived my best life today....💕 I got my toes in the grass and taught early morning yoga 🧘🏻♀️ at Southern Hill Farms -it always amazes me how yoga has the ability to bring amazing people together. We picked some blueberries & enjoyed the farm with our besties all followed by a three hour family nap 😍. If I could pick any life to live over and over again, I’d pick this one.

But if I’ve learned anything from these experiences, its that it is simply a mindset. Like the flick of a switch, I can go from being at my very best to feeling like shit. As soon as I catch myself thinking negatively and talking down to myself I tell myself to cut that shit out and find a reason to smile.
The #journey is painful, slow moving and hurts like hell at time but it’s part of the rivers course and I’ll find a way to flow to that. ❤️ -

Many people forget about the body aspect of yoga; that it is more than just stretching and laying down on a mat in meditation. I have been caught in many conversations this week with people who have not tried yoga because they think that it’s too relaxed, not enough of a workout, or is “too feminine” for their liking. As I’ve gone through my yoga journey, I have experienced many different types of yoga and, yes, it’s true that there are gentle yoga classes out there that are more focused on meditation and recovery of the body. HOWEVER, other types of yoga, such as power, vinyasa, hatha, etc. can also be an incredible workout for your body (as well as your mind)! All of those gentle yoga stereotypes are not attached to the rest of the yoga world. You can build muscle, tone your bod, and heal your mind, body, and spirit through yoga. Yoga can allow you to express both of your masculine and feminine sides throughout each practice. To me, yoga is my workout and meditation, as well as a practice to fuel my inner fiery confidence. What better way to restart your yoga practice than with a little session at the beach 🌊☀️👙. In the middle of the day. With loads of people watching! 🙈Afterwards I made my boyfriend take a few pictures and he is so not ready to take on the instagram boyfriend responsibilities again! 📸🤷🏽♂️. But I can still do this pigeon pose, not as comfortable as a while back but it is still there 🐦🎉
