There won’t be a new video this weekend on the Color Cauldron. I’ve just been too swamped with personal things, weddings and funerals, and getting ready for KITH. So in order to not run myself ragged, I’m taking a week off and will be back next week!
Took a little break from the IG this week. Not sure if it’s the hormones talking or just me feeling overwhelmed or a nice mixture of the two but I just needed a break from the rat race. Sometimes you just need to ignore your emails and nap all day on the couch, amiright!
We use finer mohair fibre in our Kidsilk Lace, making it softer than most. This colourway is Bramble. What’s your favourite way of using Kidsilk? On its own, holding it together with a strand of other yarn or for texture stripes? Do you have your own unique creative use for mohair? #mohair#mohairforever

Was thinking of offering a “knitting as meditation” workshop. I’ll teach you how to knit, and as we make a small gift for someone we love, we can practice loving kindness meditation... or just sit and enjoy knitting.
Would anyone be interested in something like this? 😀
3️⃣ rectangles and 2️⃣ triangles = The first🥇 sweater I’ve ever made. I’m new to this but I loved every minute making this. It gave me the confidence to know that I can really do more than I think I can.
Up next, attach pockets (I made 4 so 2 on the outside and two inside) and I might add a large collar with the extra yarn. Haven’t decided yet. What do you think? 🧐

The last post for ~☆Yarn Thursday~☆~DROPS Lima☆~ In the first post today I mentioned that I originally bought 3 skeins of Ruby Red in Drops Lima to make a Falling Leaves cardigan, but it turned out that my calculation of 3 skeins being enough was wrong so the unfinished cardigan was put away to return to in the future. When choosing a yarn for my next Yarn Thursday, my choice landed on Drops Lima and the unfinished cardigan. No longer feeling the vibe for the cardigan I took it apart to try and make a balero ( cropped cardigan)that I could wear on cold spring days with my high waist pants and skirts. As the yarn is more a autumn/ winter yarn, I decided that the pattern for the front and back parts should be done either using filet or lace crochet. Having just completed the Ice Bubble shawl I decided to work in the filet pattern of the shawl into my balero. I think it came out cute but would have been even cuter if I had calculated the pattern out before working it in but because I didn't, I had to frog it a few times.🐸🐸🐸
I was not able to get a photo of me in the balero as it is 30°C 😫☉🌡 currently where we live and that makes it just a little too hot for this lovely balero. All ends are in and it has been washed and blocked. Now all it needs are some buttons but otherwise it is done. What do you think?

My almost 16 month old recently became deeply enamored with her doll. So I’ve been spending all my free time making her doll clothes and accessories (a cheap dress at Walmart was $10! No thanks I’ve got yarn!). I’ve never crocheted doll items so it’s been an interesting adventure to say the least. Some of the things I’ve been churning out lately are posted here. Many are rushed after the kids go to bed as my kid couldn’t contain her excitement and I didn’t want to let her down. 💙
Sooo the pink blanket background was an awful choice and I can see the 400 mistakes I made trying to rush this set butttt my baby is thrilled. Lol! She knew I was making things for #Bebilly because I tested the size. She’s impatient like me so I worked as fast as I could to make a very basic pillow and blanket set. If she actually uses them I’ll make her a much prettier and better made set for the doll bed I am probably going to buy as handmade is just as expensive I found as I pursued Pinterest last night. 😩 She saw me taking pictures from her bath a few feet and lost her mind with excitement. SO I guess I need to pick out some pretty yarn! 😂 #craftymomlife
