I have been so lucky to have the past week off before I start my new job tomorrow. It was some much needed time with Oliver. He’s turning into such a little boy. It’s crazy how quick he’s growing. I’ll miss our time Bubby! #oliversebastianclark#workingmom

People think life comes easy for me, that I have more than they do.
But the truth is, I work hard.
Two to three jobs in High School while taking extra class so I could finish early and move to the big city to get a good job.
I have always had a high work ethic and pushed through, making sacrifices to live a better life.
It was my goal in life to not live paycheck to paycheck.
I wanted opportunity for my kids and experiences that I didn't have.
I get up early to work, I work in pockets throughout the day, and most of the time into the evening.
I've given up most tv and mindless activities and replaced them with motivation, growth and positive content.
On a mission to help others lead a more fulfilling life while freeing my future.
Even on family holidays I put in a bit of work, work hard=play hard!

Working from home definitely has it perks. But it also has its challenges. I have worked hard to create structure in my days. I need structure to function or else I’d get nothing done. I make lists everyday so I know what to expect and know what I need to prioritize. Some days I get everything I need to get done and more...yet other days, time slips through my fingers.
Oh ya and there are two little people running around! Nap time is game time. That’s when I get the things done that need all my focus. But I do have to get a lot done when the girls are awake because they only sleep 2-3 hours a day, which is definitely not enough time to get it all done!!
I try to be fully with my girls when I’m playing with them, but then will sneak away at times to put away laundry, clean the kitchen, respond to emails etc. It’s a constant balancing act that I’m trying to get better at each day! Coffee helps!
Spring is snow melting, wet grass drying, trees budding, farmers getting out on the fields, dusty gravel roads and yes.....stuffiness, itchy red eyes, sneezing and coughing. R.C has 3 different types of eucalyptus plus pine, peppermint, marjoram, lavender, cypress, myrtle, and tsuga ....ohhhhh so awesome!! #justanurseteachingoils#respiratorysupport#breathebetter

This is CRAZY!
Here I was, 25 years old with two young children, parenting fulltime and running two businesses!! My days filled with children, my evenings the only child-free time. In my two evening hours, I would pack all my business time and self-care (usually an hour for each). My life was out of balance. I was walking the line.
I was managing.
But to limit my self-care and relaxation to one focused hour per day was not fair on my self.
To limit my businesses into one focused hour was not giving my dreams the chance they deserved.
I value myself enough to have more compassion, self-respect and care.
I value my businesses enough to give them attention, care and effort.
I could walk the tightrope forever. I could progress slowly forward. I could spread myself thin and do a half-hearted job of each.
But that isn't what I wanted.
I wanted each of my priorities to thrive. I wanted my health to thrive, my dreams to thrive and my children to thrive.
I had to delegate. I had to make practical compromise.
I took a realistic look at how I was spending my time and gave myself and honest talking to. 12-13 hours a day were dedicated to childcare. I struggled with the idea of relinquishing some control and so had held tightly onto the ideal of caring for my children 100%
Continuing my obsessive attempts to be superwoman...it wasn't serving anyone.
The only thing it was serving was my insecurity and my limiting belief. Delegating some of the childcare would be good for my health, my children's growth and health and happiness, and the growth and health of my businesses.
With a deep breath, I opened my eyes and opened my heart, and started to look at all the possibilities that I had previously shut down. I couldn't have my ideal of being in two places at once, so what was the next best thing?
It was time to ask for help, to get some assistance. It was time to release my grasp, release my need to do everything.
Very Excited! We have a busy week ahead of us with a lot of events we are participating at! This Tuesday we are installing and setting up our room for Design on a Dime @hwdesignonadime in NYC. We were given 2 days to set up, but because of our busy schedule, we must finish wallpaper, furniture, electric work and accessories in one day! 🙄 On Wednesday, we are excited to join @mckinnonandharris and a selected group of interior designers for a luncheon at @cecconisdumbo We love @mckinnonandharris and @cecconisdumbo so we can’t miss it! A few hours later we are attending the Groundbreakers Awards! 👏. On Thursday, I am speaking on a panel about my career as a working mother for the @yofladiesauxiliary. That same day but a few hours later, we will be celebrating our vignette and the opening of @hwdesignonadime with @elledecor @verandamag and @housebeautiful. 😃🙌. We are not forgetting our meetings scheduled with clients and fabric companies in between these fun events! We will be posting all these exciting moments in stories! Are you a salad lover? There is nothing like a good Caesar salad in my books. I was feeling domestic today and made everything from scratch. Left over bacon from brunch, homemade croutons, homemade dressing (fresh lemon, minced garlic, djon mustard, Worcestershire, anchovie paste, mayo, fresh Parmesan, salt and pepp), a little more parm and a whole lot of crunchy lettuce! Popped some chicken breasts on the BBQ and supper was done! I think the dressing is key for a GOOD Caesar salad! We really like this one but I would love to hear your fav recipes!!!

You still with me? I want to share a conversation I had with a group of people while in Mexico 🇲🇽 last week. It was all about poop! 💩 Yup - that’s right!. Every single person in the conversation was sharing how much more regular they were after drinking this shake consistently. As a former IBS sufferer it is 💯 % one of the reasons I continue to drink it till this day. I used to be on medication for painful IBS and could literally go an entire week without going to the bathroom. Imagine how uncomfortable that would be?! 😩
Others in the group had very similar stories about irregularity and bloat that went away when they began nourishing their body with these powerful superfoods. --

Photo credit and continuous inspiration: @chrissyjpowers As a mom, it’s important to me to take care of our planet and teach my kids to make conscious choices that will positively impact the future. I do believe that if everyone joins in together we can make a BIG difference. Here are a few things my family is doing that are easy to share with your kids.
1. Stop Using Plastic Straws- plastic is destroying our oceans. Who doesn’t want to do something that will help sea turtles and this one is so simple.
2. Bike- I got an electric bike and it actually cut down my commute time since I didn’t have to find parking downtown. My kids love riding on it, and when I have extra time, I turn off the power and enjoy the bonus workout:)
3. Eat Veggie- I became a vegetarian when I was 13. I went on an Outward Bound trip and my leaders told me I was kind of a hypocrite if I claimed to be an environmentalist but ate meat. When I came home, I researched what they meant and saw how harsh the meat industry is on the planet. I don’t raise my kids as vegetarian because I feel they need to make their own choices, but we strive to eat the majority of our meals without meat. What kid doesn’t want Mac and cheese for dinner? Even if you strive for a few meals a week without meat this can make a huge difference.
4. Avoid Plastic Toys- I’m a big fan of things designed to last and plastic is not one of them. I’m loving @noc_noc_wooden_toys and @cloverandbirch
5. Reduce & Reuse- hand me downs are my favs! If recycling and reusing isn’t an option, I go for high quality that will stand the test of time. I created my company with this in mind so clothes would hold up wash after wash and baby after baby:)
