I popped in to @asda on my way home today and was absolutely shocked at the amount of plastic wrapped veg!! It’s definitely the worst supermarket I’ve been in for loose fruit and veg. Things that almost all places do loose (broccoli, carrots, potatoes!!) were only available plastic wrapped. I was fuming!! I was about to walk out empty handed and super unhappy when I spotted the wonky veg box! Not a bit of plastic in sight and super cheap. Not sure what’s particularly wonky about the veg inside 🤷🏻♀️ but I’ll take it! After that I did go on and have a look around. Got a few bits and bobs, treated myself and my boyfriend to some fancy drinks that usually I wouldn’t buy because a) I’m not rich 🙄💸 and b) trying to cut down our sugar 🐷🐽 but the sun has made me want a nice old school drink 😍 the jam was also eye watering-ly expensive but that jar 😍 definitely a keeper! 😜 all in all what started out horrific actually ended up pretty good but @asda, sort out your plastic packaging!! This is a delicious peanut, kale and Quinoa salad topped with our beetroot hummus and extra horseradish. Homemade apple cider vinegar and lemon dressing.

Our Wonky onions are great in this yummy Wonky Onion Gravy #Recipe . Pair with everything from Sunday roasts to toad in the hole. Naturally Wonky, Naturally Wonderful #gravy#wonkyveg
4 Wonky onions
2 tbsps olive oil
3 tbsps unsalted butter
1½ tbsps plain flour
250ml red wine
600 medium long beef stock, hot
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
Total time required 50 mins
1. Prepare the onions by peeling and slicing to about 1/2cm in thickness.
2. Heat the oil and butter until the butter is foaming. Add the sliced onions, stir well to combine. Add a pinch of salt and cook for about 15-20 minutes until tender and golden.
3. Add the flour, stirring well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the red wine (if using) and bring to the simmer for 5 minutes. Add the beef stock and simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.
4. Add a little salt and pepper and serve or cool and refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Oi oi Savoy! These big Berthas are back and we couldn’t be more excited. They’re the last of the crop so have a few too many defects to be sold by our farmer, which is how they ended up in the #oddbox family, but they still taste incredible! Look out for them in your boxes this week 👀
