I've been making bread for decades, ever since I was 15 years old, and it really spoils you for the good stuff. So much better and healthier than the commercially prepared bread.

The good thing by making your own bread is that you, just you, decide what ingredients that goes into your homemade bread. You can choose the higest quality flour - or grind your own. You can also control the sugar content and do not have to worry about the addition of high fructose corn syrup.

Unless you add margarine or vegetable shortening, homemade bread does not contain trans fats; you can use heart-healthy unsaturated fats such as olive-, canola- or safflower oil instead. The bread you buy at your grocery store most likely contain preservatives and artificial ingredients to extend their shelf life and boost flavor, while homemade breads do not.

Also, most of commercially prepared breads contain quite a lot of sodium. If you prepare your own at home, you can limit the amount of salt in the loaf.

So, if the the comforting, inviting smell of home-baked bread alone isn’t reason enough to make you bake your own loaf, there should be many other reasons to try baking at home.

With the right sizes for an Instagram photo, it still fails me quite often😅😁.. but I did not want to withhold it from you after a short thought, because it was so good and that what it's all about! So...what's in this half plate? Stuffed vegetables (I would take millet best or as an alternative full grain couscous) with spinach, sprouts and raw vegan garlic mayonnaise made from cashews, lemon juice, oil, garlic, salt&pepper.That simple! I eat alot (healthy)  stuff in a day so I would concider it as a nice, quick snack or small lunch😋🍅 Have a good start to your day!☀️ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Guten Morgen! 
Mit den richtigen Größen für ein Instagram Foto hapert es bei mir noch ziemlich oft😅😁Aber nachdem ich kurz überlegt habe, wollte ich es euch dennoch nicht vorenthalten, weil es saulecker war und darauf kommt es doch an! Also...was ist denn nun zu sehen auf diesem halben Schälchen? Gefülltes Gemüse ( Ich würde am ehesten Hirse oder alternativ Vollkorn Couscous nehmen) mit Jungspinat, Sprossen und roher veganer Knoblauchmayonaise aus Cashewkernen, Zitronensaft, Öl, Salz, Pfeffer und Knoblauch. So einfach! #Avocado #MacAndCheese (though technically there's no mac OR cheese). I had a lot of overripe avocados and limited produce otherwise so I thought I'd try my own variation on the Avocado "cheese" sauce I've seen on a lot of vegan sites.  Mine was #cashew based with #nutritionalyeast, #garlic, avocado, #miso and #cayenne. Once processed this yields enough for two recipes' worth. The first version (pictured) included #redpepper, #collardgreens, #onion and some #pickled veggies including #garlicscapes and #jalapenos. Next time around I added some sriracha to the sauce and the #pasta veggies were snow peas and broccoli slaw... it's a very forgiving, flexible recipe and the sauce works with anything. Here's a slight variation on my classic pre race meal🙌! That's right, PREMEET! It's race time baby🏃‍♀️! Finally having my first meet of the outdoor season tomorrow😄!! The first 3 meets have been cancelled because of mother natures desicions❄. But the snow has finally dissipated enough for us to get out there and run! I'm doing 3 events; the 1600, 800 and 4x400. I'm 3rd leg in the relay😜. I'm so super excited to get some times on myself as a high school track athlete! And also just make my appearance as a varsity track runner😉. I can't wait for this meet!! Hope your night was fantastic!

I thought there was no hope for this loaf: a day-long rest (autolyse) after first mixing, and then overkneaded to get the starter in & more water in. But hey, it was the second tallest out of any I've made. 😅 Been reading up a ton about whole wheat baking so I can get it just right for you guys. My normal recipe is about 1/3 whole wheat and it works great, but my customers deserve healthier choices 🌾🌾🌾🌾🌾 Let me know if you want me to make anything especially for you this week.
50% whole wheat. Bran pre-soaked, then mixed in for the autolyse (I might try after next time). Baked at 500°F for 15 min, 470° for 10 min, 450° for 10. I'm a bit scared to get that blackened crust in the name of cooking everything on the inside--still getting a feel for this dough. Obviously, I tried to combine a lot of techniques. 😅😅 I'll have to admit this is addicting. Will try again ASAP.

I made a trip to the #Amish store in Guthrie, #KY today with the amazing @thosebrighteyes to stock up on things I can’t get elsewhere. #wholeoatgtoats are one of my staple ingredients I #musthave in my #pantry. Super #cheap and #versatile. This is what an #oat looks like before it’s cut into #steelcutoats or smashed into #rolledoats. The #wholegrain #groat still has the #bran intact and therefore is much higher in #fiber, #protein, and minerals like #calcium and #iron. You can replace rice in many #recipes with whole #oat groats and increase the #nutrition profile by a significant amount. You can also make #oatmilk for literally less than a dollar a gallon, whereas purchasing it commercially made is much more expensive. Just like other grains, I boil 1c of millet with 2c water until water is gone. I stirred in a spoonful of pesto, added sautéed asparagus and a few seared scallops. This dish was ready in 20 minutes. You could also serve with shrimp or hard boiled eggs (as I did with leftovers for lunch).
