How To Prevent Cataracts? - Eating Lifestyle

The leading cause of vision loss is cataracts. One of the most common surgeries performed today is for cataracts. Age-related cataracts is a major cause of morbidity. Previous studies of diet and cataract risk have focused on specific nutrients or healthy eating indexes, but not on identifiable dietary groups such as vegetarians.

The study was the association between diet and cataract risk in a population that has a wide range of diets and includes a high proportion of vegetarians.

The result was a strong relation between cataract risk and diet group, with a progressive decrease in risk of cataract in high meat eaters to low meat eaters, fish eaters (participants who ate fish but not meat), vegetarians, and vegans.

After a multivariable adjustment, incidence rate ratios for moderate meat eaters, low meat eaters, fish eaters, vegetarians, and vegans compared with high-meat eaters. There was an association with cataract risk and intakers of selected nutrients and foods generally reflected the strong association with diet.

The conclusion was that vegetarians were at a lower risk of cataract than meat eaters in this study. Just cutting down on eating meat your risk is cut by 15%. Just do fish you are down 21%. No fish there is a 30% drop in risk. Finally, no eggs and diary there is a 40% drop in risk of cataracts.

Just as with diabetes risk appears to be a stepwise reduction, a progressive decrease in risk in parallel with the decrease in the amount of meat and other animal products in the eating lifestyle.

🔸Okara é o nome dado para os resíduos do leite de soja. É um alimento altamente nutritivo, contendo muitas fibras solúveis e insolúveis e também cotém proteínas.  A composição certa depende do processo de elaboração do leite de soja, principalmente na etapa de moagem, e da qualidade da matéria prima.
O okara úmido é muito utilizado na dieta alimentar oriental.
Tem um sabor neutro e pode ser utilizado para engrossar caldos, pastas e pates, farinha para cookies, bolos, hamburger,farofa, etc... só usar a imaginação!

Tofu scramble it is, then! Nice and spicy, a little salty, with some random veg thrown in there.
I guess I wanted to go for this option because the weekend was a little... strange. Lots of parties around our house which left me sleep-deprived and I had a couple of fruit smoothie during the day. So, my sweet tooth was plenty satisfied!

Dort sind Dinge verzeichnet, die wild wachsen. Von Kräutern, über Obst, etc. 
So bin ich auf eine tolle Quelle für Bärlauch gestoßen.

Healing capabilities of our bodies is amazing! 🙏 Still rubbing and flushing with my @doterra essential oils 🌱 for inflammation support such as Deep Blue blend, Birch, Aromatouch blend and slim&sassy blend. Helichrysum for cartilage/meniscus support...lemongrass on order. I use lavender with Deep Blue to calm a tendon spam I get in the back of my knee.  Calms it right down in a minute. Using KT tape and a compression sleeve. Will add some select exercises to my current PT flexibility and muscle strengthening as prescribed. But, it is not a moral issue. Let’s take the shame out of eating and diet culture. .

Why do we reward ourselves with treats and junk food that will leave us feeling sick and lethargic?

This mentality made sense during times in history where there was great scarcity. Think Great Depression-there was little sugar and so it was a big deal to bake a cake and saved for great celebrations............. However, where I live, there is no scarcity. Fast food joints are on every corner. Grocery store shelves are replete with overly processed, disease promoting products...........................
Still celebrate! But do so with delicious, whole food treats that promote health and vibrancy.......
Make the connection! Love yourself enough to feed your body the fuel it needs to function properly with ease, not dis-ease. .

MUSHROOM TOAST 💯💥 Fresh sourdough bread, avocado pesto cream and roasted seasonal mushrooms 🙌🏼👀🌿by @michalakramer

✧ Creamy garlic mushrooms:
• 200 g (~1/2 lb) seasonal mushrooms
• 1/2 onion, chopped
• 1/2 tbsp chili flakes
• 1 big garlic clove, chopped
• 2-3 spoon olive oil
• juice from half a lemon (or lime)
Put all ingredients on a warm pan and cook for 5-7 minutes over heat until it’s soft and golden. Warm your sourdough toast, add avocado and pesto on it, and spoon your mushrooms on top of the toast and taste with salt and pepper ✨ .

We know that 90 minutes of exercise, 7 days per week is what the science community tells us what we should do. So why is the recommendation that we exercise 20 minutes per day? I love crunchy freeze-dried fruit mixed with a bunch of different cereals (Ezekiel 4:9, shredded wheat, muesli) and topped with ice cold almond milk. This time I sprinkled on a bit of unsweetened coconut, too 🌴 It doesn’t take any time to prepare, either, so it’s perfect when I want something to eat NOW 🌱🌱
