My food pics never look great but here I am, over the hump, day sixteen of the Whole 30. Over the weekend my energy and mental clarity took a hit but the last two days I have felt it come back. So happy I finally made the choice to try the Whole 30. I’m not saying I will be perfect in my life after whole 30. I’m sure there will be nights when I eat a bagel for dinner and call it a day. I will still have binge episodes. I will still eat pizza, cookies, cheese, and other things I love. But I will try my hardest to eat more whole 30 than not. I won’t let food defeat me. If I have a “bad” day or meal - it will just be that ONE bad day, ONE bad meal. I am not trying to label any food good or bad but I know how sometimes (namely sugar and simple carbs) effect my body and I cannot keep allowing myself to feel like shit due to the foods I’m eating. Now if only I could quit injuring myself and get back to the fucking gym. #whole30 #daysixteen #getittogether #whole30forlife

One of my favorite things about the Whole 30 is how GOOD real food tastes!!!!! Like I’ve always been into “real food” and I love alllll fruits and veggies pretty much. But it is SO TRUE when they say your tastes buds change when you’re eating only whole foods. .

My oldest daughter turned 15 today! And boy do I feel old! 🤦‍♀️ I made her cinnamon buns and corned beef hash for breakfast (her favorites) and I had none and made myself a Whole30 compliant breakfast- major #nsv 👍

Hello my wholers :) I’ve been busy, so I haven’t been documenting my food...more like inhaling it down when I have a chance 😂 Thursday I was on call and worked for 13hrs and came home and passed out. Friday it was a combination of forgetting and being busy....Saturday I was on call again! So  I worked most of the day, and came home and passed out again lol today is Sunday-funday. Also earth day! Today Jacob made me breakfast...every Sunday I get upset and all I want to eat is banana pancakes :( it’s our thing and I’ve been missing it...4 weeks since  we’ve had them...it’s okay though..we are on the FINAL COUNTDOWN!! Only 9 more days till I complete this round. Caught this beautiful setting sun on our way home from working out with our trainer tonight. Gosh I love living by the ocean... and that we are working towards a healthier lifestyle so we can take full advantage of living in this resort town. I remember biking through town one morning before a wedding day a couple of years ago, feeling this same gratitude. But I’ll be honest. Most of the time I take it for granted. I don’t walk as much as I should. And I didn’t use my bike at all last summer. Let’s change that, okay.  #whole30forlife #foodfreesom #letsgetfit

This 21 days I lost about 6 pounds! 🙌🏻
💗My weight loss journey started years ago. In June of 2016, after 1.5 years of HARD work, I was 175 pounds and the strongest I’ve been in my adult life. Then I got pregnant (thanks to prayer, my diligence and Gods blessing!). I had a healthy pregnancy & only gained 25 pounds. I gave birth to a 9 lb 7 oz chubby ball of perfection in February of 2017. At my 6-week appointment, I had lost all but 10 pounds. Then the reality of 3 kids and a crazy work schedule for my hubby & the stress of life led to me gaining it all back plus 8 pounds. I needed something to give me that push I needed! 💗In January of this year, I joined a weight loss challenge with a friend on Facebook and I have had SO MUCH FUN! It’s been awesome accountability, fun giveaways and tons of support. So goodbye to 21.5 pounds! The next challenge starts next Friday & my goal is another 20 pounds! 💗Wherever you are, even if you’ve been close to your goal weight & gained it back, it’s ok! Just get up and move! Find what works for you & get it done! Be encouraged that you’re not alone!

Hi guys!! Long time no post!! It’s been a crazy semester but I wanted to give you a quick update: 
I completed 60 days on the Whole30 l!!!🎉🎉🎉 I kicked butt, I felt like I could take on the world, I love the confidence that it gives me each and every time and it makes me feel like I can understand my body better and better!  As of March 1st I did a reintroduction to normal food since I was planning a trip to Nashville. I struggled a lot because I didn’t monitor my food well and I splurged when I should have listened to my body. I’m doing well with self discipline but self control is something I’m not great at and I didn’t go into the introduction with a great mindset or plan since I get bogged down with school. But I just got keep trying. 
I got back from my trip and I’m ready to keep going so I start again this Monday!!!! This time I’m going to try to better recognize my self control issues, minimize snacks, and just refocus to better take care of myself. Hopefully my skin issues with get better too as well!

Forgot to measure inches after (like always 😳) but went down 6lbs. But overall total since last March, 15lbs. I’ve fluctuated quite a bit but I’m keep strong. It’s not about weight but overall health.

This time I’m also super excited that my friend @jparra_22 is joining me in her first Whole30!!! Pics-

Made it to day 29!! I’m so excited for tomorrow and especially for Saturday. I love being on whole 30 and I’ll be reflective about what food choices I will make after this round. I would like to keep it 90/10 but we shall see.  I’m grateful that #whole30 made me regain my love for cooking and wanting to be a chef in my own world. Loved thinking about the meals I was going to make but more about me eating the delicious food. I’ve talked to friends and they’re like you gave up everything. Which was my mentally before staring. I’m looking forward to my food freedom. If it’s not worth it, why indulge in it! Here’s to keeping a healthy and nutritious lifestyle

It also taught me how to cook healthier. I never knew sugar is in E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.  Seriously, try to find breakfast sausage or bacon without sugar.. It's almost impossible. 
Thankfully I had an amazing support group and I'm still eating 85% whole30 and plan to do another round. If you want to try it, message me and I'll help you out! Have you tried eating healthier? I'd love to know what you've tried.

Day two #whole30 4 miles before the sun. Spent the morning at work getting all my certification renewals in order. Ate prosciutto cups at the desk, which brought some interesting looks, and the comment “you always have the most interesting food.” When I got home I had #zoodles with avocado cream sauce topped with tomatoes and chicken. I had the urge to eat junk this afternoon, but I didn’t. I ate a few macadamia nuts and raisins and unloaded the dishwasher instead.... My son had baseball practice tonight so I fed the kids ahead of that and was so thankful for the casserole in the fridge to have with #thisisus for dinner after! Casserole is a creamy garlic, bacon, broccoli and spaghetti squash combo, that I added chicken to, and served with leftover asparagus & a yummy salad with @tessemaes ranch. #whole30alumni #whole30life #whole30eats #whole30runner #whole30mom #whole30meals #whole30journey #whole30forlife #motherrunner #momswhorun #headlamprunning

It’s easy to look at someone else’s progress and get discouraged because we are not seeing the same results. It’s easy to want to throw in the towel because we don’t see fast changes. It’s easy to come up with excuses as to why we want to quit and just move on with our lives. What we don’t realize is that, everyone is different! We have to accept ourselves and our victories as little as they may be and celebrate the improvements. It’s taken us a long time to get to where we are, it will take time to repair the damage we’ve done to our bodies. It’s not a competition to get to the finish line first, every one has their own journey.  Let’s strive to be better than what we were yesterday, let’s celebrate each step that we take towards a healthier lifestyle. Let’s be kind and love our bodies, regardless of where we are at! Take it a day at a time and do not get discouraged, but rather feel empowered to choose what’s best for you! 
5 more days and I’ll be done with the program! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Food freedom here I come!

Making my green smoothie for work tomorrow! A handful of Chard, a handful of spinach, a few sprigs of parsley, half an apple, half a cucumber, a scoop of ginger, a handful of whatever frozen fruit I have in the freezer and a glass of water. Blend.
