Pics Or It Didn’t Happen!
Anyone who has been in Bengaluru even a few weeks has likely heard the story of the old woman who lived in a hut in a forest, and who served boiled beans (bendhe kaalu) to a tired 12th century Hoysala king who had been out hunting and had lost his way. The grateful king is supposed to have named the place bendhe-kaal-uru (City of Boiled Beans), which morphed and grew into the current massive urban sprawl of Bengalūru (ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು). It’s a cute story but an apocryphal one!
Because the name Bengaluru has been around long before the name Hoysala was a gleam in anyone’s eye. And we know this because there is an inscription on a “vīra gallu" (ವೀರಗಲ್ಲು) (literally, "hero-stone", a rock edict extolling the virtues of a warrior) dating back to 890 CE or so that mentions a battle of Bengaluru.
This historical object lies in the premises of the Panchalingeshvara temple in Begur.
The transliteration of the chalked version of the hero-stone (PC: Udaya Kumar PL), highlighting the inscription, reads as follows, with each line corresponding to a line on the stone:
ttarana magan Buttana
Here’s a simplified translation: “Shrimat Nagattara's 'house-son' Pervona-setti (and) Nagattara's son Buttana-pati died in the battle of Bengaluru.”
Time Machine of the Past
There was no astrology until 10,000 years ago when our ancestors became so obsessed with tracking the movement of planets and stars. An obsession that coming out of fear, after a global cataclysm originated from the sky -a mega meteorite- hit the earth in 12,900 years ago and wiped out all human civilization (captured in the stylish story of the Noah floods). Only a few left to survive.
But our ancestors has been fascinated by celestials phenomenas, especially the Sun and the Orion stars, since the dawn of humanity. They built STONE CIRCLES as a "device" to follow the Sun and to mark the milestones along the Sun circular pathway. And anchoring their device to the three stars on the belt of Orion constellation. .
There are thousands of Stone Circles around the world, from Africa, Europe, the Islands of Britania, Middle East, Far East Asia to the continent of Australia. All of them are constructed with a remarkable similarities in their layout and architectural details! All of them gave acurate timing of the cyclical nature of the universe: time to embrace new life and new hope in the spring, time to plant the seeds and time to harvest.
The OLDEST stone circles found till today is in South Africa, dated 75,000 years old. Some experts even go beyond that date toward 160,000 years ago! And they called this special Stone Circle...the "Adam's Calendar". The calendar made by the first human Adam! Woww!
But 160,000 years ago was the era of Homo Sapiens in Africa. Did Homo Sapiens need to track stars and the sun at that time? Did Homo Sapiens already had the capacity for abstraction and consciousness about celestial bodies? Nevertheless we're also not convinced that Homo Sapien or Homo Sapien Sapien are "human" enough to be the first man.
Or Adam was a different kind of creation? A modern human who suddenly appeared n need a solar calendar? who has a consciousness of the universe inside him? .
and the quest continues... .
Where did we come from?
The Dogon dwell in a mountainous terrain near the border of Mali and Upper Volta in West Africa. But this tribe has a fascinating story from their ancient times about planets, stars and about the origin of their ancestor: Nommo, a mysterious being who came from a distant star!
Researchers from around the world, including the world-famous Carl Sagan, have been puzzled by the fact that the Dogon were in possesion of astronomical facts relating to the Sirius star system. The Dogon knew both of the existence of a tiny, dense dwarf star called Po Tolo (known today as Sirius B) is locked in a binary relationship with the larger sun-like star Sigi Tolo (Sirius A), and defined the correct 50 yr orbital period for the two stars. Details that should have been unknowable without a powerful telescope. But the Dogon already knew that in some 12,000 years ago! Who taught them?
For the Dogon, the Sirius System was the Ever-Living Placenta of the Resurrected Nommo. They were to forever remain connected to a lifeline that connected them straight to Amma's womb. Amma is the Dogon name for Amen/Ra in the Kemetic cosmology. Amma is described as the intelligent consciousness behind all of creation and the awareness within all beings. Amma is 'He Who Rests Upon Nothing'. . .
Po Tolo/Sirius B is 'The Star of the Deep Beginning'. This is what the Dogon call the Black dwarf Star. Po Tolo is the 1st of all stars.And Sigi Tolo/Sirius A is the youngest star to come out of Amma's womb. The Sirius system floods the Impure Earth with rejuvenating and nourishing life force Nyama every sixty years, at which time the Dogon perform the Sigui ceremony to reaffirm the Earth-Sirius connection. .
To remind them about where to find their home the star Sirius, in the ceremony they wear awesome masks with "H" character..the Kanaga mask..that symbolizes the constelation Orion, the signpost towards home.
Note: the "H"/man symbol appeared in many ancient all over the world. Separated by oceans and continents, how did they acquire the same symbol? A message? But from who?
Creation of the First Man
The quest for the origin of our first human ancestor had been shared with many civilizations remotely in time. We've been for millenials searching for answers about who we are, where did we come from and what is our purpose in this life.
And we're telling stories abt it to our children, stories told by our parents and our great great grand parents. Stories as told by our elders, preachers and saints. Stories that are back to the past..to the most distant time...when parents of the ancient Egyptian or Sumerian told their children a bedtime story abt who we are and where did we come from.
Clay tablets from the ancient Sumerian, dated 6,500 years ago, recorded that story of creation of the first man: "Adama", means the one who created from earthly red clay. A creation whose DNA ("snakes" in the picture) fashioned "in the image of gods". Who differentiated himself with the beast-like creatures before him that had lived on earth among the animals (3rd picture here, a Homo Erectus?). Adama became the first human, the father of a slave race..a LULU AMELU.
As Enki, the god of wisdom, told Nammu his mother:
1. ama-ni(!) mud-mu-gar-ra-zu ì-gál-la-àm ?-ingir-ri-e-ne kéš-da-ì
2. ša-im-ugu-abzu-ka ù-mu-e-ni-šár
3. sig-en-sig-dùg im mu-e-gur--gur-ri-ne za-e me-GIM ù-meni-gál
4. nin-maḫ-e an-ta-zu ḫé-ag-e
5. nin-? šu-zi-an-na nin-ma-da nin-bara nin-bara
6. nin-zadim sar-sar-GABA nin-nigín-na
7. tu-tu-a-zu ḫa-ra-ab-gub-bu-ne
8. ama-mu za-e nam-bi ù-mu-e-tar nin-maḫ-e ?-bi ḫé-kéš
9. . . . dù-dù nam-lú . . . -ke nam-lú-lu-àm . . .
O my mother, the creature whose name thou hoist uttered, it exists,
Bind upon it the . . . of the gods;
Mix the heart of the clay that is over the abyss,
The good and princely fashioners will thicken the clay, Thou, do thou bring the limbs into existence;
Ninmah (the earth-mother goddess) will work above thee,
. . (goddesses of birth) will stand by thee at thy fashioning;
O my mother, decree thou its (the new-born's) fate, Ninmah will bind upon it the . . of the gods,
. . as man.
And the quest continues...
“Science and religion are not competitors, they’re two different languages trying to tell the same story. There’s room in this world for both.” I just finished reading Origin by Dan Brown. Have you read a Robert Langdon book before? Then you’ve also read this one I’ve read all Dan Brown’s books and will continue to read anything he writes. This is no Angels and Demons, but it’s better than others... I’m looking at you Deception Point. All in all, not my favorite, but I still enjoyed visiting Spain with Professor Langdon. #bookstagram#origin#danbrown#spain#gugenheimbilbao#wheredidwecomefrom#wherearewegoing#angelsanddemons#deceptionpoint
In January I learned and worked on EMBRACING!
In February I grew and developed on ENGAGING!
This month I will flourish and perfect on BEING!
A vital part of knowing who we are is knowing where we came from. 🤔 Do you know where you came from? 🤔 I know we all know where we were born, but do we know where we came from? 🤔 I know we know who our parents are, but do we know where we came from? 🤔 I know we know some details of our birth and upbringing, but do we know where we came from?
Book 3 done ✔ one of my fav quotes from the #danbrownorigin book ....May our philosophies keep pace with our technologies. May our compassion keep pace with our powers. And may love, not fear, be the engine of change. ❤
The books talks about our future. A future where the distance and distinction between humans and technology blur. We are seeing the beginning of it. With all of our lives details existing in the "clouds". Phones, social media, doctors files, our shopping habits, our money. In the near future there will be a merging of the two. Technology embedded in us in the forms of chips. We will become one. The foundation has been set. Deep stuff. My view on technology is mixed. I have a love hate relationship with it. And not enough space on here to discuss it 🤣
Among other things, you'll find that you're not the first person who was ever confused and frightened and even sickened by human behavior. You're by no means alone on that score, you'll be excited and stimulated to know. Many, many men have been just as troubled morally and spiritually as you are right now. Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles. You'll learn from them—if you want to. Just as someday, if you have something to offer, someone will learn something from you. It's a beautiful reciprocal arrangement. And it isn't education. It's history. It's poetry. #books#bookworm#bookquotes#bookstagram#danbrown#danbrownorigin#originbook#wheredidwecomefrom#wherearewegoing
