I know it’s not #transformationtuesday but it’s #facetofacefriday and my face is in this, right? Ha. Same dress, 57 pounds difference. And I’m having one of those days where I barely see a difference and just feel so ashamed of my body. .
One of my big #weightlossjourney regrets is how much I yo-yoed. In the before, I’m 292 and through a crazy workout regiment and oleo plan, I lost 40 pounds in 5 months. I promptly gained back 30, lost the 20, and then gained it again while waiting for insurance approval. I kick myself because if I just wouldn’t have done the crazy yo-yoing, I could have started my surgery at 255 instead of 275 and now be 215 over 235. .
I’m hoping the longer that I have my #vsg , the more that shame will fade. #wls doesn’t fix a yo-yo diet brain. Sometimes my brain still says, “Yeah you have lost weight but you know this won’t last.” It can feel hard to be excited and more like I’m just waiting to fail. Sigh. I wish the surgery came with a confidence chip! .
So, if you are feeling this way, you aren’t alone. And if you ever look at yourself and don’t see a difference, know that I look at this picture and don’t see one either which, according to my mother, is crazy talk!

I’ve always envied those people who had enough dedication to squeeze a workout in while on vacation. Well, I’m finally one of those people! After a 16 hour drive to Louisiana, I thought I would hit the gym before wedding shenanigans begin. I did a quick Week 3 Day 3 of my C25K program. Even if it wasn’t the best or longest workout I did, at least it burned off some of that footlong subway sandwich I just ate! 😱😂 .
Also got in a quick workout last night before we left for our trip. Sometimes it seems like if you don’t have enough time for a full workout, what’s the point? But even an intense 15-min sesh on the stair stepper is better than no workout at all. Just getting up and getting moving is better than nothing at all! .
Tonight post gym food..... yummy 😋 I’ve got a big bowl of goodness.... there’s mixed leaves, mangetout, artichoke hearts, corn 🌽 baby cucumber 🥒 cherry tomato 🍅 and egg and new potato 🥔 salad 🥗 made by mixing 100g (raw weight) boiled new potatoes (2sp) with 2 hard boiled eggs, @alpro simply plain yogurt, spring onions and salt and pepper..... so so good and full of flavour and only 2 #smartpoints#TheFlexEffect#buddhabowl
Throwback to my first Mother’s Day compared to this Mother’s Day (with my beautiful mama @rozcim) My how things have changed. There was a time period where I thought my body was going to be big forever. But hard work, determination, and learning what it truly means to take care of my body has changed that. Becoming a mother, being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease and BRCA2+ were my catalysts to becoming stronger. You don't need to be someone else, you just need to return to the old you.
So often we think that to break our bad habits, we need to become an entirely new person.
The truth is that you already have it in you to be someone without your bad habits. In fact, it's very unlikely that you had these bad habits all of your life.
You don't need to quit smoking, you just need to return to being a non–smoker. You don't need to transform into a healthy person, you just need to return to being healthy.
Even if it was years ago, you have already lived without this bad habit, which means you can most definitely do it again.

We did the Murph today! 💪 I'm so glad I did it. The cause is a good one and the experience of doing it with my team was emotional for me for a lot of reasons and its an experience I'll always cherish and never forget. @southernpinescrossfit is such a great group of people and wonderful hosts! Im so glad I got to do this with them.
