Two years ago I visited the Missouri Ozarks to learn how some of our ingredients are harvested. It was election season (and honeysuckle season🌱) and I was a Southern Black woman on my own in a rural white town. I really had no choice but to trust my host Farmer Penny, be at ease with myself, and  listen to the stories of each person I met. 
My personality is one that always looks for connection but I was really struck by how a deep love of plants can bring strangers together.  When we listen, Mother Nature has the answers.

Keeping well hydrated is important to your health and well being, but most people don’t consume enough fluids in a day. I myself have been very guilty of not drinking enough fluids. It shows in your skin, in your weight and in your organ function. 60% of the body is made up of water and you lose water through everyday actions like sweating, urination and even breathing. So it’s no wonder that it’s important to replenish your body to ensure that your joints are lubricated, deliver oxygen throughout the body, cushion your brain, spinal cord and other sensitive tissues, and helps food pass through your intestines. The amount of water you need daily can vary depending on how active you are, so make sure you get that water in! As women, it’s recommended to intake 73 ounces of fluids a day. My goal is a full gallon! What’s yours?

💥💥 Wednesday/Thursday Tip of the Week 💥💥 ➡️➡️ Today’s Topic: The Being Mode 
There is a “Being Mode” and a “Doing Mode” and most people spend their time in the doing mode which in part has to be done also, we have to get things done in life but what people don’t do enough of us enter into the “Being Mode” where they are just present, and to simply Be .. ➡️ 🤔 The reason for this a lot of the time is the fact that they know if they switch off from the doing mode and unplug from their phones and technology they will be left alone with their thoughts and anxieties and sadness that they may have inside them. We all have pain, stress and problems that we tend to keep deep inside us and we don’t connect with this pain, we try to suppress it but by doing this you will never solve the problem but only keep it at bay for a bit longer but that will re surface time and time again if you do not sit with it now and again and give it room to dissipate from the body. 💥 So I challenge you to STOP 🛑 once a day where you literally do that, stop what your doing, turn the phone off, lye or sit and close your eyes and connect to the breath and to any pain in tightness in the body, ➡️ then place your hand 🤚 on the part of the body that you feel this tightness or pain and focus 💯% on that and nothing else if you can .. even if this is for 30 sec or a minute, try to focus on nothing else but your body at this point in time and your breath entering and leaving the body, nice deep belly breaths and focus. 
This can be a very powerful exercise and you might feel a wave of tiredness after it as I have practiced this one and that’s a sign that some of that suppressed pain is leaving the body which is a good thing. Try it from now on and DM me your findings ➡️ Once you are able to simply BE, doing and having will flow naturally from that place 🙂

I don’t know about you, but I find myself constantly thinking about loosing weight. I want to be healthy. I don’t want to be held back from the things I love. I want to be able to keep up with my friends on a hike, be able to chase the kids I babysit, and be able to do things without thinking about accommodations. I have the power to make that a reality, so I am going to continue fighting for the life I dream about.

All Groom Ninjas™ are 100% made in the USA, with the curved grip being made of poplar wood, which is considered to be a long-lasting hardwood, and with the blade being made of carbon steel! Overall, my pawrents and I have to say we were slightly disappointed with our Groom Ninja™ experience, because unfortunately, this tool just did not work that well with my wooly double-coat. Although the Groom Ninja™ states it can work on long-haired and double-coated dogs, by shedding the undercoat of fur without cutting the longer guide hairs… When actually using this tool, we were seeing very minimal results. I have had a lot of people asking lately about the meals I’ve been posting in my IG stories, so I thought I would provide some of the recipes for you here! Being so busy with the kids and life in general, I’ve found it’s SO IMPORTANT to try to prep food ahead of time otherwise it’s IMPOSSIBLE to eat healthy and set myself up for success throughout the day! For most of my meals, I use a lean protein, carb, fresh/cooked veggie and healthy fat. I also always try to have brown rice/quinoa, and chicken breast cooked in the fridge, ready to use. 👍🏼

Top Left- brown rice, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, green leaf lettuce, kalamata olives, feta cheese, prawns. Toss everything together in an olive oil/apple cider vinegar mix. ✨

Top right- green leaf lettuce, chicken fajita mix (cooked prior- chicken breast, peppers, taco seasoning), cheddar cheese, brown rice. ✨
.
Bottom left- pre cooked mixed veggies (you can buy a big bag of organic frozen ones from any store and just boil them!), quinoa, avocado, white cheddar cheese, over-medium eggs. ✨
.
Bottom right- romaine, avocado, sweet potato fries (precooked in oven, drizzled with olive oil), chicken breast, tomato, feta cheese. Toss everything together in an olive oil/ apple cider vinegar mix. ✨

These recipes are not only all #portionfix aporoved, but also super easy and doable! They may seem bland, but Ive found from cutting out sugars and processed foods (due to my reflux), I can really taste the flavours of foods again! .

Easiest way to achieve it with essential oils 🌿 is to make fun roller blends and carry them with you were ever you go! 
I order all mine off Amazon of course and add oils, 5-10 drops for a 10ml roller which are these pictured and top off with a carrier oil my fav is fractionated 🥥 coconut oil but jojoba oil, grape seed, almond, any plant based fatty oil works great! 
Once done feel free to roll on back of neck, vitaflex point on feet, wrists, and behind ears! Or directly to area that needs support! Any further questions DM me!
