Live Soda Kombucha Root Beer. Founded by Trevor Ross in an effort to provide an alternative to sodas, @livesoda produces may varieties of probiotic soda and Kombucha, root beer being (as it should be) their most popular flavor.
Now if you like kombucha, you may love this. If you like more traditional root beers, odds are like us, you're not going to be a big fan. As far as a kombucha goes it wasn't bad, but for a root beer it wasn't great. Of course if you're needing to stay off the sugar and carbs this may be a life saver for your root beer thirst as it only has 8g of sugar / carbs in the whole bottle.
Like other buch-proby sodas it had that unique taste that isn't very pleasant. This happened to be pretty strong, with decent wintergreen and hints of sarsaparilla. I'd be nice to have more caramel in the recipe; perhaps their other root beer flavor is superior.
But people clearly love this, and for a healthy substitute it isn't so bad.
If you love chocolate, ice cream and Orca’s vintage sodas the “Old Village Mercantile” of Caledonia, MO is the place to be. I just stopped in this past weekend while hunting vintage soda items and “Wow” - This place is an authentic c. 1909 mercantile and truly is a step back in time. They have over 600 varieties of old fashioned candy, fudge, coffees and an ice cream soda fountain. They have antiques, gifts and much more! They are located in the historic village of Caledonia, MO. and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Philadelphia can fairly claim a prominent role in root beer history as the birthplace of commercial root beer by Charles Hires and proudly continues that legacy with Hank's @hanksgourmetbeverages
Founded in Philadelphia, Hank's influence in the region and across the country has grown since 1996 when they first released their root beer, which now makes up 42% of their entire beverage sales. Hank's was brought to market after deliberation by Bill Dunman and the Salvatore family on the basis that a gourmet soda would do well.
Hanks does not disappoint as their root beer is very robust with beautiful body, creamy vanilla, caramel, strong head and a mild bite. Overall immensely satisfying. The only fault we could point to if pressed, is the lack of bite, and how sweet the recipe is.
Hands down this was a pleasure to drink.

Cool Mountain Cream is a caffeine-free New York-style gourmet cream soda that’s extremely light and full of soothing vanilla flavor. It goes down easy every time with just the right amount of creaminess, and being sweetened with pure cane sugar means there’s no haunting aftertaste. Only $2 a bottle, served ice cold, or take a 4 pack for only $6.99. #vintagesoda is a great way to bask in the nostalgia of yesteryear. We also carry #Cheerwine#awrootbeer#grapenehi & #orangenehi
When the sky is on fire, it's a good time for Fireman's Brew Root Beer. @firemansbrew
Firemans Brew Root Beer, a product of an LA founded brewery by an active fireman, supplies a variety of "on duty" and "off duty" beverages.
Their root beer has great carbonation but the flavor seemed to be more in the family of "cola". One thing that stood out was the sugar, although it says real cane sugar on the bottle, it tasted for some reason like artificial sweetener. For those into sarsaparilla heavy root beer this might be the perfect soda for you. The vanilla was a little light but the head was excellent. This doesn't rank as our top Root Beer but it was fun to drink.
