What About CANDY 🤔
Y’all, there is a special piece of my heart carved out just for sweets. Being vegan has opened my eyes to so many cool brands. @jjscocomels makes their caramels out of coconut milk 🥥 I challenge you to keep a bag around for longer than a day! The little caramel balls are gone in minutes at this house!
The little ball sea salt ones are my favorite, but they have espresso and vanilla flavors too! They come in bite sized balls, traditional squares, or pure caramel rolls. I buy mine from @thrivemkt , but you can order them on @amazon ... and I heard a rumor that @target was going to start carrying them 👀
Check out my stories this week as I show you vegan brands of your favorite candies! Not a vegan but love sweets... check out @maxgotsnax #WhatAboutWednesday#TheresAPlantForThat#yeahthatsvegan
St. Claire's Organics are the perfect treat for your purse/desk/car, or anywhere you keep your gum & mints 🍬 As seen at @planetorganicmarket in Mississauga, these little tins contain certified organic, vegan, kosher, gluten free & allergen free mints & candies! 😊

for all the chocoholics out there *pointing at myself* - you can still eat chocolate even though you're vegan (just not the ones with cow milk!)

Being Vegan isn't enough. Be an Activist.
Regrann from @deep_vegan - It bothers me that people constantly talk about how you save lives by being vegan, because you don't.
That would be like me saying that I save women from being raped by not raping them, it makes no sense.
Why does this bother me? Because when you say that you save lives by being vegan, you're painting this picture of vegans being heroes, and as such you set the moral baseline at carnism, which is wrong.
Veganism is the moral baseline, anything below that is cruelty.
Vegans are not heroes, non-vegans are just cruel.
You want to know what saves lives? Stopping other people from harming animals. And how does one stop others from harming animals? By speaking up for animals, by doing activism, by convincing other people to go vegan.
I do that, but I'm still not a hero, I'm just doing what I have to do, because I would want the same done for me if I was in the animals' situation, and I could never live with myself if I just remained silent.
If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.
I have a moral obligation to stand up against injustice, as I believe everyone else has too. I also do activism because I owe it to the animals, because I spent 35 years harming them.
One does not save any lives just by being vegan, one does not save lives by not being a murderer.
