I’ve been feeling pretty distant from God for a long time... there have been moments where I’ve sensed Him drawing near, but those moments have been brief. And though I’d never abandon my faith or turn away, it’s become increasingly difficult to serve and pursue a God I rarely experience. In spite of this, I believe that God hasn’t left me and is actually trying to teach me something. I’m being pressed, crushed, molded into something new, something strong.
At first, I didn’t really relate to this song, but New Wine is really speaking to me now. #hillsong
In the crushing
In the pressing
You are making
In the soil, I
You are breaking
So I yield to You and to Your careful hand
When I trust You I don't need to understand
Make me Your vessel
Make me an offering
Make me whatever You want me to be
I came here with nothing
But all You have given me
Jesus, bring new wine out of me
After-work sunset hikes for the win! Determined to make the most of this gorgeous weather, we started up the trail around dinner time and didn’t stop until we hit the top. Luckily, we had just enough time to gobble all the snacks on the summit before the sky started its show. Even getting less than three hours of sleep before schlepping off to work in the morning was worth it with views like this.
OH YA I’m still booking a few more weddings/elopements for this fall!!! AND I’m officially starting the conversation for 2019 weddings! So tell your friends, loved ones, co workers, classmates and neighbors! Help me out by spreading the love ❤️ #katskyephotography

Just a heads up for everyone who's ever asked me where they can grab gear from That Oregon Life. I understand that ordering online isn't for everyone, so I have some good news. We are officially going to offer at least 3 of our designs, on various garments at all Made in Oregon retail stores within the month! That's a total of 9 locations, from the coast to Eugene, Portland, and Salem. Moving forward we're working hard to get into more storefronts in the near future. Also we have a lot of amazing new designs and products coming very soon! As you can imagine I... WE are beyond excited right now. Happy hump day friends 😎.

1DX Mkii + Canon 85 mm f/1.2L II @ f/1.2
This was shot using the Brenizer Method, with my 85 f/1.2, wide open. It is comprised of 3 images. The end result is an effective focal length of 63mm and an aperture of f/0.9. (The lens that would be needed to achieve this photo (composition, perspective, and depth-of-field) in a single shot.)
Bokeh Panorama/aka The Brenizer Method: It's the same principle as a typical panorama, except instead of shooting with a wide angle to give as much depth-of-field as possible, it's shot with a longer focal length, to give as much of a shallow DOF as possible. This can mimic (depending on final capture) the look of a large format camera. This method increases the effective sensor size of the camera, much like the larger negatives in medium and large format photography. ~
Life will pull you every which way. Taking time to disconnect is the only thing that keeps me sane sometimes. Feeling extremely excited for a long weekend of getting “not lost” in the mountains to to fuel my inspiration and get my shit centered.
Thanks to @marschnellow for sharing this gallery wall featuring Frame and Flora cherry blossoms! That subtle pop of pink is so lovely 🌸
If you’re thinking you might need some cherry blossoms in your life, there are still two pieces available in the “trees and shrubs” section of my shop. Once they are gone that’s it until next spring. Hop on over and check them out!
