Everyone knows a Jackanory with a story to tell and there’s always going to be people who listen to such bullshit!
Sooo, rise above it and know not everybody believes such foolishness & not everybody deserves to know the real you..
Let them Judge who they think you are ✨💛
Give yourself a break. Breakaway from the pain and everything that hurts you. Peace of mind is the best gift you can give to yourself. Forgive and set yourself free from the drama of life. Cto @thegoodquote
I’ve seriously been on a roll with reading fascinating books. I picked up ‘Mindwise’ by Nicholas Epley at B&N on a random book haul. I think it was on sale. Idk, but I’m so glad I picked it up. Nicholas Epley really delves into the science behind understanding others. While reading this book I often found myself nodding my head in agreement because I too make the same mistakes when passing judgement on others. It’s something that I need to work on. It’s a little bit of that self centered thinking that a lot of us are guilty of but won’t admit. 🙋🏻♀️There was a chapter I didn’t agree with and that was the one about anthropomorphism. I love my cats and I talk to them and I know that when I’m gone on vacation or something, they miss me. And they show it. So to some, it may seem crazy for me to talk to them and to feel the love they show me everyday, but I feel it and I see it. So eff that chapter. Per usual, here are some points that stood out:
•”When behavior is an honest reflection of a persons’ mind, our stereotypes can be pretty impressive. When behavior is deceptive, however, our stereotypes are less impressive. Using observed behavior to make inferences about minds we cannot see will, at times, befuddle even the best statistician.”
•”When groups are defined by their differences, conflict is fought over the differences we imagine, suppose or expect from others rather than over genuine, multifaceted, and often more moderate differences that actually exist. When groups are defined by their differences, people think they have less in common with people of other races or faiths or genders than they actually do and, as a result, avoid even talking with them. When groups are defined by their differences, the minds we imagine in others may be more extreme than the minds that actually encounter.”
There are so many more really interesting ideas from the book but IG only gives us so much space to write. Check it out for yourself. I give it a 10/10. •Book 7/100•
Lilly, my Mountain Earth Element. (Yang) You embody the Majestic Earth, sturdy as a rock and steadfast as a mountain. Committed to your relationships and dedicated to your work, you are a force to be reckoned with. You have a keen imagination and like to brainstorm, exploring the possibilities and prospecting the potential of any given situation. Genius ideas come in revelations, but not without a plan that you can enthusiastically implement. You can grasp “out of the box” concepts and hurdle any obstacle in your path to achieve a goal. You work slowly and deliberately; your efforts leave an impression, the results of which are far-reaching. You dream BIG, recognize opportunities and execute plans to completion and to your own satisfaction. You tend to take on a supportive role, getting involved and cooperating well with others, inspiring greatness and bringing out the best in them. You lead by example and are someone others can look up to. You are our rock and “the sunshine of our lives”. -Dara Eden (https://the8elements.wordpress.com).

If you haven't read the book 'The Five Love Languages for Children' then do yourself a favour and get yourself a copy. The Five Love Languages are Physical Touch, Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Acts of Service and Gifts. You may be showing love to your child but feeling as though it's not felt or understood by him/her so it's like filling up a bucket that has a hole in or it seems to just bounce off them. They may say that you don't love them yet you feel like you doing everything you can to show them and make them feel loved. You may just be showing love in a way that doesn't make sense to them. If you could understand your child or even a child in your class and be able to speak their love language you will be amazed at how your relationship with them will improve. It's like someone speaking Chinese to an English child and then all of a sudden they start to hear you speak Chinese!!! #dailyquotes#fivelovelanuages#understandingpeople#dailyquotes#childtherapytoolbox

Ever have that moment when you don't understand where someone is coming from—but don’t have the courage to admit it? So you nod or smile pretending like you relate?
I’ve done it. Because I’m afraid they’ll think I’m stupid. Or ignorant. Or prejudiced. But how else will we learn more about each other’s differences unless we’re honest and open to learn from others about their culture, perspective, beliefs?
What if instead we leaned in and risked being vulnerable and say, “I’m not following you, but I’m interested. Help me understand.”
zim zum "Be Curious" challenge: Think about a time someone went out of their way to understand you. What did they do to make you feel safe? Put this awareness in your pocket and consider offering this to someone who's struggling to be heard.
Selling should be easy, yet sales is a tough job! .
I demystified this in my workshop on 'maximising your sales through understanding the four customer buying strategies' earlier this week!
I believe as salespeople our focus needs to be on 'making a customer' not a sale, and the only way to do this successfully is to match your customers buying style... This thinking is critical for business profitability because the traditional approach to sales is simply no longer relevant to our markets!
If you are not adapting and growing with your business, you will enter the decline phase... so please upgrade your thinking around sales and selling.
Sometimes, when someone is sharing their struggles with you, don't think of what to say. Don't think of perfect answers or advice or quotes or books or cute distracting stories and jokes.
Sometimes, when someone is sharing their struggles with you, just be inwardly quiet and innocent. Feel the warmth of your care for this person. Allow this silent presence and warmth to radiate, embrace and saturate this person and the whole space around both of you. Until there is no separation and all that remains is an awakened presence.
This is the art of shifting from the head to the gleaming center of the heart. This is what it means to be a healing presence. ~ Nithya Shanti. #understandingpeople#beasoundboard#lendanear#listenwell#becompassionate#foodforthought#inspiration
“Make it your business to understand how others see the world.” -Suzanne Stabile
This Enneagram 5 LOVED getting to soak in all the Enneagram info and learn from @suzannestabile!
The Enneagram is such an amazing tool that helps you understand your own way of seeing and being in the world.
And it helps you build compassion and understanding for how others see and interact with the world.
Such a treat to be with and process it with @audreydbreen and @holyhellions!

Today I had an interesting chat with someone... “My dad said to me that it’s when you turn 25, that’s when you become who you are meant to be” he said to me. I thought about it for a second and could only but agree. I thought back on my past 2 year of becoming a PT, self employed, breaking up with my long term boyfriend and moving to the other side of the world. All this happened around that age... I grew into how I’m meant to be, for the first time felt comfortable in my own skin. Be the confident, loud mouth, sass talking, no shit taking chick I’m meant to be. I still care what people think of me but if you like me I’m not going to loose sleep, that’s your choice. Personalities at the end of the day clash!! So I took this test 2nd April last, almost a year later I took it again... this time I first came out as a Debater which I did agree with to an extent if you catch me on a professional level, but knew it wasn’t truly me. So I took it again and came out as a campaigner again!! I would’ve loved to this a few backs before I grew into my character to see... 🤔 #profound#campaigner#16personalities#wouldyoulookatthat#debater#whoareyou#growingintomyself#thisisehoiam#knowyourself#growing#iknowwhoiam#doyou#retest#1yearon#1yearlater#readingpeople#understandingpeople#characterprofiling#jobhazard
