10km run done in gloomy and rainy weather today evening! Low key love running in the rain actually. It’s really soothing and today wasn’t particularly windy or cold, which made it even more enjoyable. I didn’t have too many issues during this run, just took each mile as it came. No compartment syndrome issues, but my right glute/hip felt kind’ve tight especially on hills. Definitely need to roll and ice like crazy before Saturday’s race. I haven’t been listening to podcasts the last several runs; I think I’m the kind of runner that needs quiet. Podcasts are fun and a nice distraction, but I tend to start tuning them out if I listen to too many. The first half of the run was nice and easy and time flew by, but the second half felt like it took forever. It’s annoying to run so incredibly slow during training, but I know that this strategy is what works for me on rest day so I don’t want to change anything.
Nope. Not taken on my run. Taken on my drive home to then run to the gym to run on the treadmill on this beautiful day! 2 x 30 minutes @ 6% in a suppah hot gym with no water and no headphones (don’t normally wear headphones unless I’m on the treadmill but today I kept them at home). The last 20 minutes were brutal but I pushed through. Hard to describe but it felt good to suffer. Somewhere around 2,000 feet of climbing and 9:50 pace. Not my best effort but not bad for my first workout back. In less than 3 weeks I’ll be running the hardest race I’ve ever run and I could use the mental training!
5 x 1/4 mile #hillrepeats with warm up and cool down for a total of 3.06 #miles on this absolutely fabulous Tuesday. I never quite reached 40 mph but I tried!!! If it weren't for those hills though....😂😂
@claireccphotography has captured the @londonmarathon and @advent.running crew at their finest. Cheering for the first runners home till the final heroes pushing on as the roads open up. It’s easy to see why getting to this cheer spot is what kept me going when the I was struggling with the heat. What a day! I can’t wait for 2019! #londonmarathon#finishlinesnotfinishtimes
Friends, my hip is getting happier and I'm hoping this may be our last official Tendonitis Tuesday! 🤞
Physically, I've made it through a couple 2-3 mile trail runs and am continuing to take baby steps in increasing my activity. The ol tendon still flares up a bit here and there but I am combating that with ice, stretching, and taking days off between these short runs.
Emotionally, I'll be honest, it's been a rollercoaster - with highs from my running success and lows from tossing and turning about the NJ Ultra this weekend (*more to come on that soon)
So to everyone still reading my rants, thank you all for the support and encouragement on Tendonitis Tuesday and every day 😘
With tomorrow being my birthday I thought today would be a good day for a transformation post. 3 Years between these pictures.
_ I originally started working out (crossfit) just because I couldn't pass my 2 mile run in the army. So after 2 months I passed my run by a whole minute. After that I just stopped working out.
_A couple months later I start doing crossfit again because I wasn't happy with how my body looked (picture on left.) _Fast forwarding a few years I got into spartan races and loved them because it put my crossfit training and also cardio to the test.
_Now today I'm preparing to do the Spartan ultra( 30+ miles) Saturday but also the beast (12+ miles) Sunday, this weekend in New Jersey.
Good luck to everyone in New Jersey this weekend, especially to those going for there first belt buckle!
«It’s so beautiful here 😍 this place is just awesome 🙌OMG it’s sooo bea.... where did the trail go?🤨»
Had such an amazing day running around in the mountains. Got a little lost, had to climb a little and ran into quite a few bushes/cactuses. So my legs looks sooo nice now 😁👌

Love the new @garminuk face it app, any picture from your gallery straight to your watch. .
Tonight's run was wet, windy and comfortable. Legs are surprisingly feeling good and the ankles are niggly but getting better.
New Vo2 max of 54 tonight.
