When you are training for an ultra some of your runs are "time on your feet" based, instead of distance based. It's a different, and often refreshing, way to structure your training!
Looking after your feet is key for the longer distances too.

I feel like a new runner again. Starting over. Struggling. Impatient for progress. Desperate to feel fitter... to be faster... to feel stronger. Agitated.
I settle into the run, breathe through the angst and then I look around. 🌄
There is a hazy mist over the hills in the distance. The sun is big, bright and orange. The skies are becoming blue with fluffy white clouds. The birds are cheeping. The town is slowly wakening and it already feels like a summers day. 😎
I am hot, sweaty, red faced, it's hard work
But I am running... 🏃 and that should be joy enough in itself. ♡
