“Begin challenging your assumptions. Your assumptions are the windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in awhile or the light won't come in.”
~ Alan Alda
The children were frolicking around, creating patterns in the dust, shouting at the top of their lungs. Mother stood close to the door, watching their life and gaining her will to live from the same.
The youngest one was sprawled against the tallest tree, staring into nothing.
Her hair still ruffled, her eyes darting towards the other children every now and then.
Nobody seemed to notice. They were too busy living.
Mother asked her why she wasn't playing with the other kids.
She said , she didn't feel like it. She wanted to be alone.
"But, you're not really alone here, are you?", she said.
And she knew she wasn't. Hoping that one of them would watch her, notice her, come over.
No one did.
No one wanted to
They were too busy living.
Until, she went and sat where they stood. Silence reigned over them. They could see now. Like a curtain ripped off a beautiful painting. An enigma.
Who is this girl?
