War veterans receiving a warm welcome at the @reagan_airport in DC. This #honorflight just so happened right before we had to board our flight and it was an incredible moment to witness and photograph. Luckily, I had one of my film cameras locked, loaded, and ready to go so I got the opportunity to float around and document this incredible moment at the airport. As the plane taxied to the terminal, fire trucks shot an arc of water for the plane of veterans to entrance through. Upon their emergence in the airport music burst out through a brass band and they were warmly greeted by thankful American who showed their appreciation through signs, waving of American flags, and excited thank you’s as they passed. Although I was frustrated the night before, I was so thankful our flight to Pensacola had been cancelled otherwise I wouldn’t of had the opportunity to capture such an interesting moment of Americana.
