Repost. Painted this one amongst some others after my grandmother left this world. She is still so present with me 1,5 years later, some days I can feel her standing beside my while I paint, with her curious childlike spirit, enjoying my paintingstuff, she was an amazing artist, but always used the cheapest stuff, and I think shes impressed with some of my gear❤️ I LOVE her so much, what she brought and still brings to my life❤️ The painting is about leaving..becoming an angel and then being reborn again.. I wonder who she will become in a new body and if I will be blessed to meet her again. She is for sure with me in spirit ❤️❤️❤️ #teklau#remembering#spirit#gramdmother#art 🎨 #transformativeart#love#heartart#reincarnation#angel#colourfulart
The work of American Photographer Sally Mann, best known for her black and white photographs of her young children or landscapes, both suggesting decay and desth. Primarily Mann has utilized antique standing photographic equipment. She identifies quite strongly with the Virginia landscape of her upbringing and family identity. More recently she has left her heavy portraiture focus to explore the landscapes which hosted famous and deathly Civil War battles, and then the Potter's Field enclosures which are studies of the natural decomposition processes if human cadavers. Haunting and arresting, her work is both controversially disturbing and ethereally affirmative of the natural cycles if the body and the earth, and the ghostly imprints they leave behind.
This piece is titled "Virginia #42 " (2004), What Remains series.
A documentary about her life and work is also entitled "What Remains: The Life and Work of Sally Mann" directed by Steven Cantor, Zeitgeist Films, 2005
Australian Musical Collaboration "Dead can Dance" / From the song "Opium": Sometimes
I feel the ocean in my blood
See rain from the sky above
Her salt brined tears
And now those tears leave a taste on my tongue
Like the warm rush you get from
Finally found the perfect frame for my newish painting "Lotus Rising." 🌸

Painting hair is way harder than it looks, and everything I do I want to find the happy medium between surreal figurative representation and a unique abstract style... what do u think so far?

The second picture is of art I made tonight at a transformative art workshop. The first picture is of the same art with a mirroring effect...I’m constantly amazed at how alchemical creating art can be when I can let go and let it flow.
