Happy Wednesday ☺️ Trained chest last night which I rarely ever do as I’m scared to train it on my own but my boyfriend was there to spot me 👫. —
Decided today was going to be my rest day but as it turned into a lovely sunny evening I went for a run 🏃🏼♀️. 3.5 miles later (which was unexpected) and some core workout, I’m finally getting to relax.👌✨
Solid workout today, after yesterday’s deadlift drop set annihilation luckily it was my high carb day. I had nearly 500g of carbs yesterday which is almost double what I am normally on. Just as well because my rear delts are still fried from those rows and deadlifts!!!
So I did a triple drop set on chest, 3 sets of 8. I started on 18s and wanted to go to 20s in the last set maybe 22 but the second set killed me 😂 and had to settle for 18s and as you can see I struggled a bit so I took a bit of a rest and turned it into a cluster set. I started with a high incline, dropped it to a low incline then went to flat WITHOUT rest or minimal rest. The only rest between the drop sets was to change the seat position. This is called a mechanical advantage drop set whereby you go from weakest to strongest. I did a YouTube video 🎬on this yesterday so check it out. The lactic acid was a killer the burn oh my 😂 my triceps were fried. Then I did 3 sets of cable cross overs (sorry the angle wasn’t great) I managed 12 reps on the 3 sets. In the last video you see that I did a 30’second isometric holds - this is one way to finish the muscle, you can also do this without weights. The other reason is to get as much blood into the muscle for the pump. It also helps with the mind to muscle connection. Biceps I did 4 sets of zottaman curls with 7s boy this exercise is a killer and 4 sets of cable rope curls. I then went and did some deadlifts (not shown) I wanted to experiment with my stance as I wasn’t happy with my form yesterday. Didn’t do anything intense or heavy but I wanted to see the differences in the lift in reference to how far my feet are from the bar 🤔🤔
