Our Memories are a blessing from god, having the ability to remember & relive our memories in our mind. Humans evolving, science & technology developing we have various ways of capturing & storing our memories.
I wanted all 3 of us to contribute in making a perfect Father's Day gift. The experience with Amrita coming over, talking us through the process of moulding & casting. We chose our casting powder, moulding powder, colour & design of the frame, was all very exciting for our son & even us.
The final product is so beautiful and special to us. Something that will be cherished for generations. A true masterpiece.

HAPPY MONDAY 💕🐰 i hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! I wanted to share with you our latest how we used this weekend to get rid of #pacifiers . we talked for the week leading up to Easter about how we will trade the Easter bunny our pacifiers, in exchange for 🍫😋 the night before Easter she said “mommy i give the bunny my pacies” and we collected them all! last night was her first night without it. I gently reminded her that she is a big girl now, and that’s why the Easter bunny made the trade. she seemed completely satisfied with that answer and has not asked for it since! It took a little longer for her to fall asleep but she did it! So if you are looking for a method to officially make your home #pacifierfree i hope this helps!
Eating with toddlers, proves to be a challenge. even more difficult is feeding them. want to know my secret for a kid who eats everything? ground rules. Scarlett knows that she must at least try what is given to her. but she knows she doesn’t have to like. in our house we have established that dinner time is family time. what is on the table is what is dinner. no exceptions. to encourage your kids to enjoy dinner, ask them what sort of foods they do like. have them help with meal prep, dinner selection, or even picking out recipes. you can guide your kids to make healthy choices, and give them options! be mindful that there are some foods that just aren’t kid friendly. decide if that is a war you want wage. ensure that your meal time arguments aren’t happening during meal time. this will reiterate to your child that meal time is not enjoyable but quite the opposite. An important skill to learn is to ration out only a reasonable portion to try. not a fan of meatballs? start this one cut into quarters. giving the child a sense of it is just to taste, not to force feed. this has worked wonders in my family, and my daughters just about everything! every family is different, be sure you always do what’s right for you & your kids 🥘🍴 #toddlerlife#toddletales#toddlermeal#pickyeater#momlife#motherhoodunplugged#motherhood#parenthood#rolemodel
how to STEP-PARENT. I brought in the reinforcements on this one because i am not the step parent. But i can give you the perspective of a parent. first things first. be sure you both are in this for the long haul. date, get to know each other and ask the the tough questions. clarity will be everything in this situation. for us, we spent time together before he even met Scarlett (who was just barley one at the time). we talked in length about what we hope for our relationship. when Steven met Scarlett, he tread lightly. he talked to her, interacted with her games, and with my permission brought a gift. we always met in kid-friendly places so they had something to focus on together. he became engaged with her interests and over time she chose him to take part in activities with her. these are the foundations of the relationship. Respect & interest. he honored the boundaries, and made the effort to help me in all my “normal” tasks. as she saw him helping it helped build trust for both of us. consistency, patience, and compassion are what worked for a smooth and positive transition of having ✌🏻 parents, instead of one 💋
Ready for an easy toddler craft? 👩🏻🎨 SENSORY BOTTLES- - okay, if you haven’t already heard about them... you are not alone. I learned this genius idea from Scarlett’s schools. These bottles are for all ages. In smaller children, it often brings them a sense of serenity. While for older children it can help develop important important connections in the world (sink/swim, counting of objects, and even movement patterns). here’s what to do..
you’ll need an empty water bottle, some soap, glitter, & objects (beads, pony tail holders, little figurines, paper clips, ANYTHING). Fill the bottle with water, a drop of soap, and all your little goodies... then super glue or duct tape the top back on. Let it dry over night and wah-lah! The best quiet time toy ✨🕴🏻 Comment below if you gave this a shot ❤️ #toddlerlife#toddlermom#sensoryplay#sensorybottle#glittergame#toddletales#toddlerart#toddleractivity#motherhood#motherhoodunplugged
Happy Monday 😊
if you are like me, you get asked “i help?” 50x a day. for awhile I was brushing it off, and finding something else for her to do while i cooked. Until it hit me... i CAN let her help. I just need to figure out which parts are at her skill level.
For my toddler this included:
• pre/post hand washing • cracking eggs (her hands under mine)
• & mixing 👩🏼🍳
For older kids, start by finding a recipe they like. Something they will get excited about (...like 🍪). And go for gold. Try out a recipe, such as sugar cookies. This will get your child involved in the decorating and mixing process. If you find your child seems to really enjoy it, start planning together. Looking up recipes and taking their suggestions. Choosing a food they love will start to bring out the curiosity and excitement out of cooking. Because let’s be honest... I’m an adult and I’m STILL proud of myself when my cooking projects turn out well. Remind your child THEY made this.. show your enthusiasm for their creation and remember, everything is washable. Messes are part of the process, happy cooking friends 💕
Kids of Today
Reyaansh eats everything except rice
Every time we force him, it turns into a ugly tantrum & various reasons surrounded with why he does not like rice
Today we tried again with fingers toes crossed, Well we sort of succeeded
But today’s reason mid meal totally baffled me.
Rey - MA there is a lot of rice in my plate
Me - rey please you have to eat all that is in your plate
Rey- MA rice makes me fat, you want me to be fat
Me- Shocked & Speechless
Obvious to us all he has overheard our conversations. All about how we don’t eat rice or bread or cut down on sweets.
Daily I explain the importance of each vegetable, fruit, grains etc he consumes as to how important & essential it is for our body. But somewhere the concept of Fat & Thin has creeped into his innocent mind. •Let’s emphasise on the importance of eating each & every seasonal fruit vegetable grains etc. • Make it fun & talk about how our body or body part will benefit from the particular food or food category. •Draw a fine line between snack time & main meal time •Healthy Snacking is most important
Skip salty sugary processed snacks •We follow 1 strict rule at home - “No Special Request in the week”
Means - whatever vegetable, pulses or proteins are made we all eat the same. This teaches the kids to eat all types of food. •Yes my house is no boarding school- we do indulge in our cravings once a week over the weekend - in short we cater to ours brats request of a pizza or ice cream/ chocolates etc
Snacking options we stick to
1) Seeds & Nuts- Reyaansh loves snacking on sunflower, pumpkin seeds along with mixed nuts.
3) Fruits/ smoothies- always 👍👍 2) craving for potato chips- we choose sweet potato grilled with herbs and garlic
3) Snacks on the go for post or pre classes-
Let’s keep it simple & healthy for kids. The concept of judging people or themselves over their physical looks is a strict NONO
Fat or thin is not of importance, but living & eating healthy is.
You are perfect the way you are!

#tbt Reyaanshs 2nd Birthday Party
Simple decor, coloured cream cakes, chips, home made food, magic shows is what summed up birthday parties at our age.
Times have changed & so has the trend in birthday parties & it’s no cake walk.
A new mum & a complete novice in birthday parties was stress enough for me two years back, but at the end the party was a success.
Looking back I learnt some valuable lessons
1) Always book the venue way in advance- Living in #mumbai & having a monsoon baby, we chose the venue in advance & kept the venue central for all our guests with travel time of max 30mins in heavy traffic.
2) Hire a party planner experienced with kids party planning.
3) **Before zeroing down on a particular theme have two back up ideas/ themes always ready.
4) ** Do your homework- regarding the theme of your party, especially if you are not hiring a party planner. This will help you to sync your ideas with decorations, food, returns, games & gifts.
5) The “Cake”— Make sure to chose a nut & fondant free cake, safe for all Kids. Always do a taste test of the cake with your pattiserie.
6) Return gifts- again keeping a budget here is important & syncing the theme with the return another, along with the use & utility of the gift for the child.
7) Always keep 10-15 extra return gifts to avoid falling short at the last minute.
8) Menu- I personally prefer a mix of buffet & live stations for kids as they can be cooked to a kids taste & choice. Pasta, Dosa, Chat(for the mummies)
9) A good photographer who along with pictures, can also produce a few seconds video montage of the complete party.
If living in #mumbai • Hit #crawfordmarket - it’s haven for all a-z party supplies & gifts of all kinds. • Sona Stores, hill road, bandra is perfect for arranging & organising games for kids party (if not opting for a party planner) • @partybucket.in & is your answer for a perfect party planner • @loveandcheesecake designed the most delicious two tier pirate cake along with a complete sweet corner consisting of mini cake pops, cookies, & chocolates as per the theme.
We were at mumbai”s Oldest & most famous fishing village -
#sassoondocks for the “Sassoon Doc Art festival” by St+art Urban Art Festival @startindia who have transformed Mumbai’s Sassoon docks into an exhibition space with graffitis, street art styles & art installations.
At first I wondered how Reyaansh would like this & wether he would understand anything.
But Am happy I took the risk. He was in awe of the art work, it stimulated his mind - the colours, graffiti, sounds, lights. From large portraits of koli fishing community to environmental message with its depiction of plastic bottles floating through the ocean.
His questions never stopped & I loved answering each & every one of them.
The exhibition is open to all from November till December 30th 2017
30 artists from around the world have given a colourful makeover to this 142 year old docks.
We give this art festival a full 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Great family visit for all ages & all #mumbaikar 🧐
